726 Tasting Notes
I’m still freakin dying from midterms okay.
I finished one this morning, and then I went to my 4 hour lab where I got to butcher a chicken and cook rices stuff and potatoes and yummy foods and things and then after that a 2 hour class used as a study session for our midterm on tuesday.
Between my lab and lecture, I had about 30 minutes to run home and get ready for class and I turned the kettle on, threw a sachet of this into my thermos and poured the water into my thermos and rushed to class.
Everyone there was all WOW WHAT IS THAT SMELL. Yeah this tea is //very// aromatic sooo yeah. It’s good. Definitely one of my favourites. When I get down to like two sachets, I’m going to make mother buy me more from San Francisco hehe :)
I had this whole extravagant plan of making mashed potatoes and chicken roulade with provolone and spinach and a whole lot of other things I could find in the kitchen, but my roommate got mad because she knew I had my bigger midterm tomorrow morning. I’ve been reduced to sitting in my usual corner of the kitchen table drinking tea and having ramen for dinner tonight because I just really need to study for this midterm.
The Elrond blend is one of my favourites! This was probably the one out of all the Hobbit Blends that I was really nervous for. Rooibos teas in general (to me) smell like medicine and I always am hesitant to try it. Elrond does have that medicine-y aroma dry, but when you drink it it tastes like yummy sweet candy. It tastes like the tea was grown in a meadow full of sunshine and rainbows and prancing unicorns pooping lollipops. Yeah I just really like this tea okay.
Such a shame that all the Hobbit blends got taken down though. I’m the only one who has reviewed this tea so I have no idea if anyone has tried it yet! If you follow me and would like to try this tea (or any other of the Hobbit blends), shoot me a message and let’s hope I’ve got plenty to go around :)
((except for Bilbo. Bilbo is mine and I only have enough for two cups oops. But I’m all for letting everyone try all my other Hobbit teas! Even if it’s not on my swap list!))
(backlog) It took me forever to find this tea on Steepster! Mainly because ehh I’m too lazy to actually //look//
But yes. This tea is the genmai-cha that I bought from Japan in Epcot! Pretty much your basic roasted brown rice tea. Definitely much tastier than the genmaicha that I had from the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf from my aunt so long ago.
Current status: Dance parties every night to this song (http://youtu.be/NiHWwKC8WjU) on repeat because I’m tired of studying for all my midterms. Dance parties with a cup of hot hot tea is quite possibly the worst idea ever but I DON’T CARE. PROCRASTINATION TO THE MAX :))
But this tea! I got it in Downtown Disney while I was still in Florida and the sent stood out the most. It’s fairly fruity. I love the strawberry in it! It’s very aromatic, which I love, and the strawberry scent is there from dry to steeping. It sorta leaves a weird texture in my mouth though..
I got this in a 30 sachet tin at the Barnes & Noble last summer and oh I’m so happy they’re in sachets! It makes mornings like these so much easier.
I haven’t had Earl Grey in so long, so I’ve got a cup of that right now as I study.
Oh the studying does not end :/
Dang these pearls are huge! My jasmine pearls are wee little babies compared to these!
Why do all these teas smell like dust and attics to me. Not much of an old book smell, but definitely the smell of an antique shop hhaha. Steeping, it takes on a grassier scent. But the taste! Oh so so good! Looove this tea so much. I think just a single pearl would do me just nicely :) Probably enough for two cups of tea :)
I’ve got my jazz playing in the background, my philosophy book opened, my tea to keep me nice and warm, and my dinner cooking on the stovetop. Yes. Today is a very good day indeed.
A great big thank you to shmiracles for sending me this tea!
I was quite excited for this one. I recently just started drinking oolong teas and I found out that I actually enjoyed them! So here we have this beautiful tea, with a nice dry aroma. A lot of the oolong teas that I smell dry does remind me of dust and attics, but the good kind! Like the smell of old books :)
The description of this tea is correct! First you get that nice floraly taste, and it’s topped of with that woodsy feel. Definitely going to remember this tea as one of my favourites.
What the heck. Just one last cup of tea before I head to bed tonight!
Dang today was a crazy day! Well, just the fact that I’ve been studying all day long, and sprinkle in a bit of MasterChef Junior along the way ehhe :) But daaang those kids are talented!!
Finishing up the night with a mug full of my Apricot Amaretto :) So happy I brought a whole bunch of mugs with me from back home, cuz I’m on my last one! Everything else is drying in the rack and my roommate just laughed because there are 8 mugs in there and that happened over the course of 2 days.
But yes. TEA! Apricot Amaretto is not exactly my favourite, but I was sorta craving it tonight. I need my herbals and a majority of them were minty or spicy and I wanted fruity. You know, I actually think I really like this tea! Going to bump this rating up a wee bit because I really like this! It smells like medicine dry, but when you steep it and drink it, it’s really good!
More concentration tea!
Took a study break because my friend texted me and FREAKIN COLIN MORGAN THOUGH. THOSE PHOTOS.
Okay.
Yeah.
Relaxation tea.
Colin Morgan’s beautiful face right there on my screen. Like how can one man possess so much unf.
Seriously. My entire blog right now is just his face because hAVE YOU SEEN IT.
Hahha okay bUT TEA. TEA IS GOOD. I got the trio set thing from Tea Forté from my sister and this one is pretty good! Very similar to Foxtrot by Adagio, minus the chamomile, add the citrus. It’s nice :)
