Hmmm, when I had this before there was so much flavor. This time, it’s like watered down cinnamon. Maybe I should have steeped it for more than 3 minutes?

IDK. Guess I’ll move onto another cup.

I am all stressfaced over here – my bf is getting grad school acceptance letters and we may have to move to Toronto. There’s only one school in BC that we’re waiting to here back from that would prevent that. :|

Ontario eh? Sounds…. cold.

But there’s a fair number of steepsterites over there, so that’s something!

I think it’ll be a few months before we hear from UBC and know for sure wth is actually going on. So I’m in limbo and that’s sorta the worst.

Just like this tea is in limbo. Will try it again before I rate it.

Kittenna

If you think Ontario sounds cold… try Saskatchewan :D That said, I know people from BC are not used to cold, hahahaha.

Sorry to hear that things are not coming up the way you want, but I can’t say I’d be all that sad if you moved here! :D

TeaLady441

Yeah I’m sure I could manage with the cold after living in Northern Alberta but I don’t enjoy it. More reasons to drink tea though!

Seems like there are a few Toronto steepsterites there! :D I’d have to stop being shy.

Fjellrev

Well congrats to him for getting into U of T or York. Either are great schools. But I hear you. I don’t miss the Albertan weather at all either.

drank Long Life Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

This was the last of that! It’s pretty good. Very light and fruity, but it doesn’t really taste like a typical oolong. So, if I want fruity tea this is great, but I think I’d be happier with something that was more oolongy.

Wow. This seems fairly strong AND sweet. So many berries! Most of them, blueberries! The tea itself just sorta faded into the background, but I can see why it’s named after jam.

I think I would try this again sometime if I want to satisfy a sweet craving.

Thanks ozli!

And I’m cheering this sipdown because I am now (accidentally) over 110 teas, and I have more on the way from Yssah and my Ovation order.

oh god..can we trade? I’m think by the time i get home i’m going to be approaching 300…and i left for china having managed to get down to 178.

TeaLady441

Hahaha. I’m worried that I might end up there in a few more months. :O I hope not, but I keep extending the bar. Coming back from China with 100 teas isn’t a bad thing though. I imagine you found some really awesome deals and/or rare teas there.

Sil

i wish i was coming back with 100 teas from china. Mostly it’s orders i placed before i left arriving at my house while i was away. HAHAHA. Work has kept me too busy to go to the tea market :(

Tasty! How come Della Terra can do chocolate tea so well? I’ve enjoyed all the ones in the chocolate sampler pack. I probably wouldn’t buy a lot of any of them but I might do another sampler!

Even after letting it sit until it cooled, it still feels like I’m getting plump strawberries with every sip.

Yum! I passed on this one due to the mixed reviews but I’m glad to hear that they do chocolate well.

Sil

lol see i would disagree. I pretty much dislike nearly all of their blends that involve chocolate.

Kittenna

And I’m kind of in the middle! I like some of their chocolatey blends, but not others, and sometimes it varies by the day. :D

TeaLady441

That’s funny. I was sure someone would say they don’t like Della Terra’s chocolate teas too. I have had bad luck making chocolate teas from other companies taste good – I expected to not enjoy these either. I wonder what’s

TeaLady441

different.

Sil

:) good thing there are sampler packs!

I brewed this for 5 minutes as was recommended (@160F). It seems really flowery and buttery. Not sure if that’s normal for Bai Mu Dan but it’s quite pleasant.

I made a whole pot for our roleplaying group. Hope they enjoy it, and that it resteeps well.

Still strange and wonderful. Not for everyday drinking lest it lose its magic.

Ok – now that I know how weak of a ‘chai’ this is, I steeped it for a bit longer with more leaves. It’s better?

While it was hot/warm I got a lot of raspberry with a touch of cream, and it was pretty enjoyable. Now that I’ve let it cool to room temperature (I blame the baby!), it’s mostly bitter with a little bit of berry. Bleh.

So… this would be good if I kept it covered while I sipped away.

Aww boo. I’m a bit hesitant to try anything else of theirs after trying their EGC. Very bitter too.

TeaLady441

Totally bitter! I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s found this!

Fjellrev

The only one I may bother trying is that Coconut Cream Banana, but they never seem to have it when I’m there.

Crowkettle

Yes! The coconut cream banana is always out of stock! I liked this one as a smal serving.

drank Earl Black by 52teas

I steeped this without reading the description and tried to figure ut what it tasted like that way. What I decided? Grape. Lots of grape.

Turns out it has black currant in it. :P Oh well – from the comments I’m not the only one who thought so. For a tea named after The Earl, I’m not detecting any bergamot, which is actually a blessing as I’m sorta picky about how much of that I can stand.

There’s a bit of tartness and more sweetness but it’s very pleasant. I haven’t had many white teas but I could see getting more of this in the future!

I made this for my evening pot and it sure turned into such a pretty red brew. Unfortunately, that means it’s laced with hibiscus. :|

I did know that going in though. As expected it’s pretty tart, and I’m only getting a bit of creamy strawberry under all that. It’s almost ok though? I bet if I had it iced it would be much better.

Thanks ozli for letting me try this!

I am continuously baffled by how common hibiscus is in tisanes, yet not many people even like it.

At first I thought this was a little bitter, but I find that with each sip it tastes better. It’s supposed to be medium strength but it might be stronger than that. It’s actually a quite pleasant black tea.

Mmm. It’s super tasty with a splash of milk.

This was my choice for Steepster’s book club. I picked it because it sounds fancy and the tea was first blended around the same time that the book is set. I hope the others I’m swapping with like it.
