Even though the flavors are really basic, I really like this combination. Chamomile and lemon work so well together, and I like that the lemon is not overly acidic. It makes a really good iced tea. I steeped the tea bag several times for about 45 seconds each time.

I had this yesterday morning and enjoyed it immensely. I like the blend of spices they used (cardamom, pepper, clove/allspice, ginger were all prominent.) Some chais are weak, but this blend is spicy. It is also really good if you brew it hot than let it cool and drink it iced or make it into a latte; this Masala Chai is a very versatile tea. The black tea was really smooth and strong but not bitter, even on the third cup.

I had this a few days ago and really enjoyed it! The black current flavour was prominent, fruity, and sweet. I liked the tanicity of the black tea. It had a lot of flavour but was not astringent or bitter like some bagged teas.

I steeped 4 minutes in just-under-boiling-temperature water and it came out a lovely roasted amber colour. I also really like how fragrant the teabag is dry and while steeping. The whole room smelled like sweet black current while I was drinking it. The only drawback for me was that it is best with 1-2 steeps only, and a prefer my teas to do several steeps.

I found this tea underwhelming, to be honest. I almost bought a tin of it last time I went to Silk Road because the loose leaf smells so good, and now I’m not sure I will ever go back for it.

I bought a cup of Silk Road’s Sour Cherry green tea because I needed some tea before my flight and I knew I would be stuck at the airport for a while. They used a lot of leaves in my tea bag, at least 3 teaspoons, which quickly expanded to 6 teaspoons after a few minutes of steeping. The leaves were mostly large pieces of a medium green colour. After about 3 minutes of steeping, the tea was a light yellow and tasted very faint, so I let it steep for another 3 minutes. The liquid was now a more attractive amber colour and smells like green tea and cherries. Unfortunately, the flavour was lacking. To my disappointment I could taste very little cherry, and I dislike the tangy and astringent aftertaste. However, under all that, there was a pleasant green tea flavour. If you are someone who does not mind astringent tea, you will enjoy this tea strong. Otherwise, I would not recommend this tea.

Quite tart with an artificial strawberry flavour. That being said, I think it would make a nice iced tea with a bit of sweetener. My main issue with it is the back of creaminess. I like really creamy teas, so this was a disappointment.

I like that it steeps a pinky red colour.

My friend gave me this sample, so I didn’t buy it myself. They certainly are not my favourite tea company because of their high prices and questionable hiring practices. I like a few of their teas though. I wouldn’t recommend buying this particular strawberry cream tea though, because there are several better ones.

after looking up the tea, i have tried it (my apologies). it was good stuff. i think it tasted more like those strawberry candies that come in a wrapper that looked like a strawbery

Yeah, there was not a lot of cream or black tea flavour. I do like strong fruity teas, but I didn’t like that it wasn’t the creamy black tea it advertised itself as.

I really like genmaicha and I enjoy oolongs, so I thought I would give this a try. The loose tea doesn’t smell like much, but the tiny rolled beads look fresh.

The first steep (3 minutes) smells like toasted rice. It steeps a medium gold colour. The first sip brought a smile to my face. It is slightly sweet and tastes like toasted rice or grain, it also has hints of seaweed (but without the saltiness or vegetal flavour.)

The second steep (2 more minutes) tasted similar but has more flavour. The colour of the liquid was a bit darker and you can taste some tannins but no bitterness. The leaves has expanded to about five times their original volume and are dark green like kelp. There is almost a bit of sesame flavour to the tea, but not quite.

The third and fourth steeps were done in cooler water and produced pleasant and flavourful cups of tea. I suspect you could brew this tea many more times before it loses flavour.

My favourite part of the tea was the look of the looseleaf. There are some whole small leaves and lots of stems and partial leaves. I really like the bright fresh (unprocessed) colour and the variety of shapes and sizes. I prefer larger tea leaf pieces or whole leaves because I feel like they look more pleasing, so I had high expectation for this white tea.

The loose leaf is not strongly scented but has notes of dried leaves and sweet grass. It doesn’t have the tea smell I expected, but I appreciate different types of teas.

This tea was too vegetal for me. Have you ever bit into a flavour petal? It kind of tastes like that. It is slightly floral but not in a rose or “aromatic flower garden” sort of way, it mostly tastes like eating the petals themselves. There is also some “dried leaf/grass” taste, like the smell of walking through a grassy area in the hottest part of summer when all the plants are dry and withered.

Flavors: Dry Grass, Herbaceous, Summer, Sweet, Warm Grass, Vegetal

I haven’t tried What-cha’s version, but most of the things you describe are reasons I like Bai Mu Dan. It’s funny how tastes differ.

It will be nice to drink this sample, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I do like it because it is not something I have tasted before, however I don’t enjoy grassy or vegetal teas as much as other varieties. I think everyone’s brains respond to tastes differently This is a good thing, though, because this way there are more varieties to try and enjoy. :)

I am blown away by how amazing this tea is. The black tea is strong, but not bitter. The maple flavour is absolutely lovely, the sweetness ties it all together. It tastes like maple walnut ice cream. The harmony is perfect, nothing overwhelms any other flavour. This would make a very tasty latte also.

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)
