drank Passionfruit by Adagio Teas

I cold brewed to the remainder of this tea thinking I would like it more cold than I did hot. As a cold brew the perfuminess of the tea is considerably less which is good. There is still a lot of fruit flavor, but its not quite the passion fruit taste I’m looking for. It’s a bit too much like candy with its over the top sweetness. I had no problem finishing my glass, but I don’t think I’ll be reordering this one. I think I’ll give Teajo’s passion fruit tea a try next. I definitely want to find a good one before the weather warms up.

drank Phoenix Pearl by Zen Tea

Tea of the morning, and it was so good. Bread-y, chocolate-y, malt-y perfection. The second steep was just as good with less of the crusty bread note and more sweetness. This has become my Saturday morning tea because it is such a treat, and I like being able to sit and really enjoy all of the flavors. Also, this pairs exceptionally well with a veggie omelet.

Nice, I ought to try it already. My pouch has been sitting around unopened for a while. :)

Yes, try it! You can thank me later. ;-)

This tea has been in my cup all week. The soft vanilla mint flavor seemed to bridge the gap between winter and spring. I used the last of my leaves tonight, and of course it was the best cup ever. Sweet and delicious but not overpowering in any way. Perfect for a relaxing night of reading and snuggling with my cat.

This is a tea I’ll happily order next winter.

drank Earl Grey Lavender by Adagio Teas

Yesterday I hot brewed this to make iced tea. I let it cool on the table and then chilled it in the fridge. Today I am rewarded with a very nice pitcher of tasty tea. The lavender and Earl Grey are wonderful iced, and the base tea keeps its strength without turning bitter. I added a quarter cup of sugar to the tea while it was still hot which helps to highlight the bergamot and floral notes without making the tea too sweet.

Mmmm, this is good. I’m sure the pitcher will be empty before the weekend is over. We’re actually supposed to have nice weather here tomorrow, so I might get the chance to sit on my porch sipping iced EG and planning my spring garden. Yay!

We had a rainy day here (soooo much better than snow), and I thought a Moroccan mint tea would be perfect for the day. The addition of pepper here is nice, but I still miss the smokiness of the gunpowder green tea. Still, it was a highly enjoyable cup!

drank Thai Chai by Adagio Teas

Tea of the morning. I like the coconut and lemongrass in this chai. I added a little sugar and some milk to my cup, but next time I think I’ll add honey and possibly some coconut milk. Overall not a bad chai. It’ll be nice for those days when I want something sweet and spicy but a little different from my traditional masala and chocolate chais.

I have been holding on to this oolong for far too long. Oolongs are hit or miss with me, so I’ve let the ones that I have sit in my cupboard unloved until I get in an oolong-y mood. Such a mood struck me tonight, and while it is going to wreak havoc on my sleep it has been a blessing to my taste buds.

This has a beautiful floral note with a nice bit of sweetness. After that there is a roasty note followed by a sharp, but not unpleasant, dryness. I just looked at other tasting notes, and, yes, honeysuckle is what I’m tasting. Wow, this is nice. Sleep be damned. This tea is worth it.

drank Eight Candles by Della Terra Teas

I wanted a dessert tea after dinner, and the idea of caramel and marshmallow was too good too pass by. I remembered to overleaf, and I ended up with a nice tea. I added some sugar and milk which upped the creamy dessert factor. Perfect for sipping while catching up on episodes of The Voice. I am totally and completely hooked on that show.

drank Lady Grey by Twinings

Around noon I started flagging and decided I needed a quick and simple tea. After looking through my tea bags I choose this one. With a little cream and sugar this light, citrus tea takes on a creamsicle flavor that I l-o-v-e. Just what I needed to get me up and going again. This is definitely a simple tea, but it’s also a good one.

…and it’s gone. Actually, I think I can get one more steep out of the leaves in my brew basket, but then I’ll have no more S’mores. :(

I’m going to miss all of the layers of chocolate, graham cracker, marshmallow, smoke and honey. This tea is so beautifully unique but also fun. (How could a tea inspired by the classic campfire treat be anything less than fun?) I’ve enjoyed it so much this winter, and chances are I’ll be buying it before we start our camping season in May (right after I get my medical bills paid. Eek! ). Until then I’ll enjoy all of the other Whispering Pines treasures I have in my cupboard.
