390 Tasting Notes
this is lovely. i’ve hardly had a moment to stop and i don’t imagine that will change much…. a light green nutty cup of ‘stop and take a breath’…. not a traditional green. definitely not a chinese green…. i taste marine air and have a sense of salt though not the taste. a savoury element, but when i try to pin it down it skitters away.
striking.
i foresee a long and happy friendship. =0)
Preparation
I like hojicha. Nice and low in caffeine too, so good at night. I had a caramel hojicha once, which was nice.
It merely added a subtle sweetness with a little toasty notes. But I know you have trouble with caramel. :(
such a random glitch 80\ HOWEVER i found one i can taste: chocolate caramel by simpson and vail- their tea is so strongly scented that it seems like i taste it even though i know i was smelling it.
crazy school day… dipped into my strictly monitored stash of black lotus from ifjuly…. such a lovely, lovely thing. with every sip i will see stacy catching glimmering black gold lotus with a spider web net in the middle of the night…. =0). it’s my story and it makes me smile.
by my calculation i have 4 cups left if i resteep cautiously!!!
dammit- this scale needs to go higher than 100!
assuaging my lack of weekend with this lovely tea…. in my other class, studying psychoanalysis, they asked us if ‘i have at least one relaxed, easy evening a week to do what i want and go to bed early’. must admit i snorted…. and then i may have guffawed. but this tea slows time down for me. makes it feel like my answer could be ‘yes’ for the duration of my cup….
yup. lol…. right up there with my other class saying they expect 6-8 hours a week outside of class. i sit at 24 AVERAGE. the charity hasn’t had anyone tech savvy to run the social media portion. i am waving maniacally at you, looking completely deranged… can you see me? lol.
Have professors forgotten what it’s like to be a student? I know that they have a ridiculously busy schedule themselves. I can’t imagine. But if they really think you’re only spending eight hours on their class per week, outside of class, they are sadly mistaken. And that’s not even “studying” which is what I consider putting in your own extra voluntary time to review stuff or whatever.
just stopped by starbucks which is carrying one of my drop boxes (collecting obsolete but functioning cell phones) they had 30!!!! with the chargers!!! i was expecting…. okay, i don’t know what i was expecting, but really not that. the donation box was crammed full and they another box in the back. HOLY CRAP! let me frame this a tad more: one store, suburban location, less than a week.
i am stunned. they’re all going to uganda.
HA! i can taste the caramel! AND i have a theory….
i’ve noticed that all of my new simpson & vail teas are very strongly scented. i don’t think i’m actually tasting it on my tongue…. i suspect the smell i so strong that i’m smelling it as i sip but probably not actually tasting it. STILL it’s a nice illusion =0).
not my favourite tea… not bad though. good thing because i have lots! very smooth. honestly, i was mostly caught up in tasting caramel and didn’t take as many notes as usual, lol.
Preparation
well isn’t it something like 90% of taste is smell, so I think it is safe to say you are tasting the caramel. I declare a tea party in celebration of James tasting caramel, other than Butiki, finally!! :)
this is a very cool tea! strawberry jam in the tea, and cupcake in the smell… they achieve strawberry cupcake by clever layering… i really have no idea how they do that!
cake without being sticky or heavy, strawberry including an essence of seeds!
very nice…. i’ll buy again.
Preparation
lol. weeeeeeeeeeeeeell…. i kindof have a bag. as long as a letter envelope doesn’t offend i could ship a bit off as a teaser? =0)
Perhaps there is something I can send in return? Let me know! I will be going to the post office tomorrow so if anything tempts you I can have it sent out in no time.
I HAVE ENOUGH TEA FOR A WHOLE SEMESTER! lol. but, i’ll ask a favour? can you review the mityana tea for me if i include it? honestly. they need whatever feedback you honestly have. =0)
Of course. I review all the teas I drink :) And are you sure there is nothing at all I can send? I see Transsiberian Chai on your shopping list and I have about 40 g of it upstairs :P
lol, geez. i can’t think of a chai i didn’t want to try. that would be lovely. thank you! OMGsrsly… now i see you with tea bag pom poms :0P
i want a picture!!
Aimee Popovacki… you’re back! it’s a great tea. my favourite simpson and vail so far.
nice as a quick stop over cup of tea, but i wouldn’t buy. i suppose it seems a rather half hearted effort to my palate? still, thanks loads to the ever-brilliant ifjuly for the try of it. i guess i need more of commitment is all, lol!
=0)
Preparation
i think the closest has been roi des mages… but i forgot it on the counter for 10 minutes, lol. i was given a set of 5 as a gift and i’ve been handing them off to poor students (like me only more so, lol). although kusmi is my least favourite of the european teas, it still trumps anything local, LOL! ie: they get snatched pretty quickly once i put them out in the starving students cupboard. each person can grab 2 items ONLY IF THEY NEED IT… so if they get tea, that means they’re opting out of one food item =0)
I guess I need to try more violet teas, then! I liked this one, but this gives me hope for finding something better.
bit of a guilty review here… sortof sleep-steeped this one today as a black… oops!
however, lovely anyway. christmas in peking (at least when steeped as black) is orange… not a typical orange though. i taste tangerine. well, tangerine when hot…. tangerine/apricot as it cools. honestly, while it was an accident to steep it so strictly, i would do it again =0)
thank you for the treat yyz!
very nice… back to study.
