From DAVIDsTEA

Indulge

This ultra-rare oolong from the Wuyi Mountains of China is velvety smooth and lightly creamy, with a subtle hint of orchid. It’s said that it came about when the moon fell in love with a comet. The comet passed her by, as comets will do. The moon cried milky tears, which chilled the tea fields, withering the leaves and giving them a delicate creaminess. It’s been a rare luxury ever since.

Ingredients: Chinese oolong tea from the Fujian province, natural flavouring.

Yum! My tasting notes are as follows;

Dry Leaf – Smells of cream and a slight bit vegetal. Very pleasing to the nose.

Steeping – Sweet cream with a little mineral. Inviting and ‘warm’ scented.

Flavour while hot – mineral, cream and vegetal. Dominant notes of cream.

Flavour while cooling – Sweet and mineral and cream – in that order.

Mouth feel – Rich ‘brothy’ mouth feel. Leaves a creamy feeling on the tongue and palette for several minutes after consumption.

This is a must-have staple tea for me. Delicious.

This is a lovely tea. It tastes like a smoother/creamier version of my boxed green tea. Delicious!

Resteeped it and it was just as good the second time around. Yum!

I’m floored by how luxurious this oolong is, it looks like I’ve found my new favorite! There aren’t enough adjectives to describe this tea. It has a full body taste that is smooth, milky, and sweet. The finish is buttery and soft.
I especially love how the aroma complements the taste, rather than masking or changing it. Be careful not to over-steep it so the milkiness doesn’t become overwhelming as it cools.

Bought this from David’s Tea Westport store. When I first opened my 1oz bag I immediately was brought back to childhood with the smell of apple chips. Not a professional description of scent, but the was the memory it triggered. With that was light spinach and toast.
I started my first infusion per the directions provided…1 1/4 tsp. for 4-7 min in 200F. I went with 4 because anything more seemed to be long to me for an oolong.
The spinach has fallen to the back and more of the toasted notes come forward after steeping. Nice moderate mouth-feel.the first taste that comes to mind is star fruit with a mild briskness in the finish.
Didn’t get that milky coating in my mouth that I have gotten from other milk oolong’s but the taste is very pleasant and worth trying. I would steep closer to 3 min. next time to push back that briskness.

I got this as a free sample from one of the employees. They said that they didnt like the smell at first but did really like the tea. I too found the same thing. It is really different from what I normally buy but I liked it enough to pick up 50g.

So I had this tea last Saturday ( the 26th), I went to DT again becuase I wanted to try another oolong. This is the one I passed up the other day. This one had a creamy/woodsy taste, so it was similar to the tung ting, but it was also different.

I didn’t get this one at first. I bought it as the result of the sort of exchange that goes, “I normally put milk in my tea.” “If you like milk in your tea, then you’ll love…!” What can I say, I’m susceptible to classic sales techniques. The thing is, this is milk-y. Milk-like. It does not taste like tea with milk in it. Therein lies the difference. In fact, now that I’ve grown to enjoy this one, I daresay that adding milk to it would positively ruin it. So, if you are someone who likes tea with milk in it, then this is not necessarily the tea for you. You are probably after a black tea, probably a breakfast blend of some sort. But, if you are somebody who enjoys milky flavours, then this would be a good pick.

Let me start out by saying I was shocked by the sheer price of this tea! At over $6 for 25g I couldn’t believe it, but it sounded interesting and I wanted to try it. Let me tell you, it’s worth EVERY penny of it! This is creamy and buttery with this great high quality oolong mixed in perfectly as well as a tiny hint of floral something or other. No clue how it’s so smooth and creamy because it’s only oolong nothing else, but it is GREAT! Just don’t steep it too long – it’s naturally a slight bit sour/bitter so keep your steeping about 3-5 mins and you’re set for a huge treat! I don’t care if it’s $24 for a 100g tin,I will likely get one! YUM :D

This is my first plain oolong tea! :) I love the hint of jasmine one smells when drinking this delicious tea. I wouldn’t say this tea is milky, I tasted no milk flavour. One first infusion, the jasmine scent is strong and it has a nice refreshing taste to it. On the second infusion, it’s just like the first infusion though a bit weaker as well some bitter notes come out. On the third infusion, one can mostly taste the bitter leaves.

Tastes like fettuccine alfredo!! Boom.

A slightly floral, sweet buttery flavour.

Great for many steeps!
