Adagio Tea- $10 gift certificate Chocolate- $8
This is going to be interesting. I’m hoping to keep it at $500 or less. I suspect I’ll spend more.
I brought this forward and realized that my assessment of my tea spending habit is way off. But I still think it’s a great idea to keep and track and see what I end up spending.
January
Verdant: 61.95
Tao Tea Leaf: 104.50
Jan Ttl = 166.45
February
T.O. Tea Festival: 60
Damn Fine Tea: 34.55
Steven Smith: 15
David’s Tea: 51.46
Feb ttl = 161.01
Total to date: 327.46
So far, on myself, I’ve spent $40 at the tea festival. It’s a constant battle for me to not spend more as there are soooo many places tempting me. Lucky my Della Terra order was placed before the new year muahahaha.
If I find work soon, I’m thinking I’ll end up spending about $500 total. Otherwise, probably closer to $200 or so.
I have a quick question: I am not the only person in the household who drinks matcha. Do I count theirs in what I have budgeted for myself? Decisions, decisions….. Opinions are welcome.
I’ve been counting everything. Even the stuff that is ordered specifically for fiance and I’ll never see.
But I’m doing mine more as a household tea budget, I think. Shared finances and all that.
For me, it is my kids, and they only drink matcha as far as tea goes. I am still unsure how I will count it, because the tea budget is mostly to keep my tea spending in check. I might charge myself 1/3 (I have 2 kids and they drink more of it than me.) Then again, I might count it all in there.
I’m just counting by dollars spent by/for me, regardless of end drinker.
Eh, since it is only the matcha, I might as well count it. Also, I don’t think I will have any problems keeping within my budget, so I don’t even know why this crossed my mind. I guess my spending has been out of hand for a few years, last year being at least better since I have more of a handle on what I will actually drink. I know better what teas might lose my interest, so I buy them in very small amounts if at all.

I think this may be more appropriate posting for the “Tea Companies and Promotions” category.
Also, why are you pretending to be someone who entered the contest when you obviously either work for or own this company?
Also, when running a contest such as this, shouldn’t there be information ex. the rules, deadline, etc. on your website?
I think you are right. It should have been posted in “Tea Companies and Promotions.” I am new to site. Thanks for the heads up.
I appreciate your help. :D

(My budget for the year was estimated at $200. At this exact rate, I will spend my $200 by Aug and will have a total of $302.10 by the end of Dec.)
from previous post:
I estimate $450 total yearly spending.
January total: $66 (much more than I predict spending monthly because I purchased an expensive bag of tea this month as a one time after-holiday splurge)
February total: $68.01
Details:
Arbor Teas: $32.87
Butiki: $21
Harney&Sons: $14.14
Total: $134.01
Notes: yes, February is about the same as January, despite my previous comment about spending. This again, has a logical explanation. My mother doesn’t often buy her own tea so I often send tea as a gift. Her Bday is coming up so I purchased some of her favorite teas. Since I was ordering anyway, I added on some teas I didn’t need just yet in order to save on shipping charges and to order a couple in bulk to split with her for the gift. I don’t include the gift costs in my total because I budget gift money separately. I just include the cost of the teas I get for myself. I don’t expect to purchase anything during march, but we’ll see :)
Updated for March:
Prediction: $750
Actual:
January TOTAL: $234.66
February TOTAL: $213.00
March:
DAVIDsTEA: 70.00
Red Leaf: 35.00
Steeped and Infused: 8.00
Yearly Total: 560.66
Ok, time to run and hide!
No more orders until I hit 150 teas?
No more talking to Sil and Shadowfall? :P (No, I can take responsibility for my own irresponsibility!)
And yet, I still believe this crazy ordering will slow down now that I’ve hit most of the big companies I’ve missed when I couldn’t really buy tea…
bwahahahahaha… I’m at Zero for March…but i predict that will change but i’ll try to go until mid month at least. i hope.
lmfao!!! I’m in the same boat as you Cavocorax and I have the same yearly prediction… My only hope is that I’ll slow down in summer.
Oh thank goodness Kamyria! #highfives
I was looking at everyone with their $50 yearly purchases and starting to feel like I needed to run away in shame! :P
I’m not doing much better…i’m at 250, and each month i’m coming in over budget lol which i at least anticipated heh
