How much DID you spend on tea in 2014?

I estimate that I spent roughly $350 last year on tea…which given that I don’t make alot of money…that is alot! I am trying to save up for both a new car and a place to live (Be moving in with my Mom soon, so that’ll help. She likes tea but mostlikely she’ll think my tea habit is out of hand like my Dad does.) I am hoping that with the exception of tea stash sales, I’ll be able to get away with 1 tea buy a season, if I keep it under $50-75…though of course even those #’s will depend on how much moola I am making.

Geeze, at this rate, probably around 500 bucks.. Totally worth it though.

Prediction: $300-400
Actual: zero so far in 2014! I went on a tea buying hiatus with another tea-loving friend in mid-December after both of us decided we should drink what we had first. (And yes, we’re holding each other accountable!) Considering multiple bags of tea fall out when I open my cabinet, the hiatus is probably a good idea. So I won’t be buying any tea for awhile. Mid-summer is a conservative estimate.

Since I’ve finished by tea-trying binge and I know what I want and how I want it, I reckon my tea spending will be maybe $200-400, probably less that depending on how generous my extended family wants to be with their random gifts around chinese new year.

So far I’ve spent about 50$ on a bunch of teas that will keep me for half a year or so and the only other tea I plan on purchasing at any time would be 30$ plus shipping.

January comes and goes, about 50$ passes.

Another 50 for that tea I was looking at, so I’ve now spent a total of 100 and I’m not looking for any more.

Who Knows! Except 75% is imported, Perhaps $750.

My projection for the year is $2400.

I’ve budgeted my old coffee budget $40-60/month.

January purchases $0. But I did buy an occasional coffee. One of the local independents has a new owner and the coffee is amazing! Chocolaty, rich and sweet espresso, and they actually do a proper macchiato.
