557 Tasting Notes
This one is very nice and strong(steeped strong)with no bitter and slightly malty(assam type maltyness)flavor changes with more steeps ending with a very nice almost plum-like flavors, I really like this one. Very good with a little milk and a touch of sweetener.
Tastes vegetal and toasty, smell is very vegetal, it is kinda nice tho and gets more roasty tasting after a few steeps even almost nutty which was very nice but i’m afraid this one may just a tad bit too vegetal for my personal preferance i wouldnt drink it very often but its still pretty good.
I’ve been mixing Uptons Roasted Oolong with Uptons Amber Oolong, Both of them and some of my favorites, They taste great together. I’ve been drinking them Iced here lately 1 tbsp of each in a half gallon pitcher usually to cold brew sometimes I add warm water if I dont want to wait on it lol.
This is the last of my samples form Fong Mong and it is very nice has Great roasty toasty flavors with slightly sweet floral/fruityness peaches or peach blossoms and has some smokey notes to it as well all this while staying simple and not too complex, very enjoyable i must have some more of this one it reminds me of my favorite oolong so far.
I’m not sure what to say about this one, I had never had anything with saffron, I don’t know how to describe the taste or smell of this one honestly I just cant think of anything to compare it too or words to describe it, It’s a lovely tea, little bit bitter but not in a bad way at all, strange aroma but very nice.
even in cooking too much saffron can make a dish bitter. also there is cheap and higher grade saffron so who knows, what you have might not be that great. I’ve tasted a tea with saffron as an ingredient and the effect was warming and delightful though. Too bad this was odd because it should be more wonderful.
It has me wanting to try just some saffron without any tea in it, i know i can get some at my local health food/herb store, it is slightly expensive but i think it may be worth a try :)
This one gets me High :) I’ll write about how it tastes and all when I come down.
Preparation
I like it a lot, im going to write about it soon after i enjoy it a few more times, I can say now that it is one those that I can feel after just the first few cups, very nice “Qi” i think thats the word for im not sure i never used that word to describe a tea before, very nice energy or force i dont feel im qualified to talk of such things but that i don’t understand very well but it most excellent. I’m american and its not a word we use so i may not really know what it means to most folks or if it can be use in talking about a Tea, but it has a nice “energy” about it that makes me feel alive and happy :) Ding-Zing Zing!! Rated it high because of that. I will for sure try to get some Laoshan White thanks for letting me know that. I drank a few cups before i went with Lance to the dialysis clinic and i was feeling fine the whole time i was there :) It steeps many times and the feeling last a long while for me.
Perfect iced too, the flavors when iced are not as in your face as when warm, the “all grapefruit” turned to a nice citrus flavor and the piney juniper was a little more noticeable, very nice refreshing iced tea, I woke up to a glass this morning. Really great blend I like it alot.
I forgot to mention the smell of this one was also awesome, when dry i can smell the juniper much more than I can taste it, if my kitchen smelled like this id be very happy, they need to make grapefruit scented pine-sol weird but that’s what this tea smells like dry lol how could something that reminds you of pine-sol taste good??? It does lol
I get it! Super fresh! I want to go buy a grapefruit now and chop it up and smash some juniper berries from the bushes outside …..then….simmer the whole thing to scent my house now!
