557 Tasting Notes
This one was so not what I was expecting but it was surprisingly amazing even better than I was expecting. I am fond of juniper and the thought of juniper and grapefruit intrigued me. I was expecting a stronger juniper flavor but it was opposite and the grapefruit was powerful in this one which was perfect, the taste at first is all grapefruit with a piney juniper taste following, it reminded me of a “wilderness tea” I had once made with lemongrass and some pines, I drank it warm as usual but im looking forward to trying it iced, im glad I accidentally got 2 samples of this one. Very good flavored tea :-)
Finishing this sample off, this is a very good tea :-) thanks to Fong Mong Tea for these awesome samples, I have one more oolong to try still I have enjoyed all my samples.
November
November rain is good to, that’s just all I could think of at the time was just November, not sure why but this one just reminded me of the fall time cool breeze, dead leaves falling everywhere, acorn squash in the oven, pumpkins in the yard ect. I’m not even sure if I tasted the tea cuz I just kinda zoned out while drinking it. Lance enjoyed it also I think.
I love how tea can do that. How it can just transport you to another time and/or place, just by sipping it and experiencing the flavors. I think this is why I love tea so much. It doesn’t require much to just escape everything for just a moment, if allowed a cup of good tea.
This one is good, it steeped up a light color with a vegetal aroma but the taste was very refreshing and bold almost floral at first with charcoal baked flavors come out after the second steep. Not my favorite but still quite nice. I didn’t pick up any minty notes that others are getting. What I got was this is a nice Dong Ding and I would enjoy a cup anytime :-)
Yo Tommy, there’s a newbee on Steepster that has more Puerh than anyone I’ve seen in ages and I’m the only one he’s following…so take a look at the cupboard. mrmopar
I dont usually have much to say for green teas because I just don’t drink greens very often because they are my least favorite. This tea is really good tho it is not very “grassy” or vegetal like some greens it is very delicate and floral sweet. The aroma is slightly vegetal and floral at the same time. Very enjoyable tea :-)
This one is a nice Ti Kuan Yin, it has greenish floral notes that are very subtle and sweet followed by a toasty nuttyness, very buttery smooth mouthfeel. I like this one I think I want to buy some more. It reminds me of my favorite oolong :-). Also this one can make several tasty steeps pending in how you steep it. I let a cup of it go cold by accident and that wasn’t bad at all just the floral notes really come out when its cold.
