Good during breakfast, second breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner. Yes, it’s a breakfast tea, but this is an ideal tea for any time you need a lift. We get why people would want to wake up to this robust blend of black teas (caffeine), but why limit English Breakfast tea to the morning only? We know you would never let the “norm” dictate what you do. You little rebel.

You know what else? English Breakfast tea with milk is a straight-up delight. There are so many ways to dress up this tea, but we’re firm believers that it’s good straight too. Do you know why it tastes so good? It has to be the blend of black teas that combine to make the bold, brisk flavorful tea that has become one of the most famous blended teas in the world.

Did NOT oversteep this today, for once, so it was quite tasty. Nothing special, no real taste notes to speak of, just a nice black tea that I use to ‘clean out’ my mug when I have chai first thing in the morning. I’m bringing in a specific tea mug on Monday so I won’t have to start every day with this soon. I’ve been sick for 3 days and unmotivated to make tea so it’s nice to get back on the ‘horse’ so to speak.

Ah, Stash English Breakfast…where do I start? This is the second tea of my recent bagged tea purchase. The other was Stash Earl Grey. Of the two I liked the English Breakfast best but barely. I want to be complimentary here. Like the Earl Grey, this isn’t bad tea. But like the Earl Grey this tea suffers simply because it come from a tea bag. Prepared one tea bag per 8 oz water I found this tea to be weak and tasteless. 2 bags gets a little closer to enjoyable but still not “strong”. The flavor is simply unassuming and a little bland. There is no astringentcy or bitterness at all. That’s probably a good thing for a first morning cup or an all day drinker. No surprises, no worries. Just tea. There is nothing here to make me want another cup but I would not object to it either.
It’s ok to drink but not remarkable. This is a solid “b student” kind of tea. You know, it gets the job done with the right motivation, but will never stand out and be noticed.

A very plain English breakfast with a fairly flat flavour. It can also be tannic or bitter if steeped too long.

Snagged the bag from a motel breakfast buffet to assess properly vs semi-hot water available. A little smokey, a bit astringent. It’s nice. I’d happily drink it again, but not go out of my way to repurchase.

As always, I add honey to my tea for a natural sweetener.

Tried this one at work today. It was pretty good for a bagged black tea. I steeped it for four minutes and ended up with a strong, bold flavor but a slightly bitter aftertaste that I didn’t care for. I’m sure it would have been much better with milk, but all I have access to at work is powdered creamer, so I drank it straight. I would drink this again, but I’d either try a shorter steep time, or add some milk to temper the bitterness.

Tea offering at Just Breakfast in Morgan Hill. Decent, even with cheap breakfast diner style serving. (Cup of hotish water with tea packet on the side.)

I had a cup of Stash English Breakfast Tea this morning and thought it was good, solid flavor but nothing special. I thought it resembled a bit more of a generic black tea than specifically any “English breakfast” blend.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Smooth, full-bodied, malty— great in so many ways. I have mine with sugar and evaporated milk. I am trying to convince my family to switch to this tea, because it has the satisfying depth that PG Tips has, without the animal cruelty.
