I believe I sipped this down a couple weeks ago but forgot to log that on here. This is one of the most unique flavoured teas I ever tried. It’s floral yet has this surprise licorice note that isn’t mentioned in the description. On the other hand, I did not detect any nuttiness—especially chestnut—in here. Good work, DF.

This tea is a mixed bag for me. It’s a definite positive experience, and I like the cup, just not for the reasons I was hoping.

The chestnut flavor really doesn’t present for me, which is what I really wanted from this cup. There’s a substantial amount of perfumed floral notes, ranging from orange blossom to cornflower (which is doing weird things in my brain, because I didn’t see cornflower in the blend), there’s also a sweet undercurrent of caramel, which sometimes presents with an almond brittle type sweet nuttiness.

As a chestnut tea, I don’t know if I could recommend this, but overall it’s a tasty, solid experience.

I really wish I had looked at my previous tasting note before ordering this one… The website tricked me!

This is quite a floral tea. But in the description, orange blossom is mentioned only in passing, and it’s not mentioned at all in the flavor list. But I would say orange blossom is definitely the strongest note here. I can taste a bit of apricot, and perhaps some nuts, but I definitely don’t get biscuit or caramel. The apricot does pop out a little more in the aftertaste.

It’s not that I don’t find this enjoyable, it’s just not at all what I had in mind! Ah well, serves me right for not checking to see whether I’d tried it before! :P

I can’t imagine I’ll get through 100g of this, so please feel free to send me a message if you’d like some!

It’s so true. I always want this one because of the maple-like scent, but I made it yesterday and it was so floral I actually dumped it out. :O I’ll try again another day.

Sounds heavenly to me!

If you don’t have takers already, we can have a discussion! Ha ha!

@Courtney – Fortunately I don’t mind orange blossom as much as some other florals, but I feel lied to! :P

I wouldn’t call this a fruit tea, it tastes more like the chestnuts and biscuits to me! Maybe a little bit of floral fruit, but I added cream which can take down flavours like orange blossom.

So delicious.

I would like more, please and thank you.

hearts to Shmiracles for sharing it with me!

Thanks Schmiracles for sending me a sample of this tea!

This was also a miss for me. There was flavour to this one, but not very strong and again I couldn’t tell what flavours were in it. The description lists quite a few flavours but I didn’t really get any of those. I still have enough for one more cup so I will try this one again with milk and agave or honey. Honey makes everything better :)

This tea is.. quite interesting. It doesn’t smell like the tea that I would pick up. It smells very fruity and fruity black teas just.. don’t sit well in my stomach.
Steeping and it still has that weird medicine-y smell that I associate all fruity black blends with.
Oh. Not good. It just tastes like a weak black tea with weak flavours of weak fruits. I decided to re-add my leaves for just a couple more seconds to see if I could pull a bit more flavour, but it’s just starting to go bitter. I’ll probably just use the rest of the leaves as a cold brew or sipdown and share them with my roommates.

tis one was not for me either, sadly. and i felt horrible about it because my sample came from a friend in paris =0(

I know, I got this tea from shmiracles last month and I loooove trying new teas! But with that, you’ll also try teas that just aren’t for you.
This tea was good enough to finish the cup, but now I have leaves that I’ll just give to friends. At least it’s going to a better home :)

JustJames

true… it is the responsible thing to do, to rehouse an unwanted tea =0)
