Latte Sipdown (308)
I do not love lavender and I am picky with earl grey. With that said, why did I buy this and think it would be amazing? I blame the “spiced” or the “muffin”. I genuinely don’t know.
Anyways, its an earl grey and to me that says “latte” so that’s what I did. Unfortunately, all that work and a cute new glitter mug and I don’t like it. It’s the lavender. It’s not for me. I want to like it but somehow the spices and earl grey and lavender combination are coming together to be even more soapy than just lavender. I should have known better haha.
I really liked this one as a latte! I agree lavender can be a hit or a miss. Sometimes it can give a bit of a musty smell for me. I really like her earl’s sugar cookie tea blend! :)
I didn’t try that one. I debated buying it in my order the other day but I don’t love earl greys so I decided against it.
Marshmallows. Sprinkles. Caramel. Captain America. I might have bought a larger package of this because of those things. Wish I drank it while it was hot though because cold it is caramelized almond. Hot, I think it might have had more to it. It’s not bad and I could see this being a decent latte. Plain and cold like this, it’s a little underwhelming.
After my success with the unsmoked lapsang (which I did not know was a thing) by Teavivre, I am so happy to have this in my cupboard. I didn’t realize but I am a fan. This is maybe not as good as the Teavivre version but it is still very good. The website boasts dark chocolate notes with a sweet finish. The sweet finish I get but this is not dark chocolate for me. To me, this is breadier and with caramelized sweet potato/yam and a sweet finish. Very smooth.
More teaware arrived from DAVIDsTEA today and my Black Friday order from Happy Turtle Teas. That got me excited to get into some new things. I wanted a latte and the T2 teas that arrived earlier this week were in large quantities and definitely latte flavors. This is a little thin so I could see it benefiting from a bit of whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. Other than that, it’s not bad.
I’ve been drinking A LOT of water lately. Not so much tea. Part of it is water has no decision factor. Tea does. Today I wanted tea but had no idea which so I just decided to make myself a cup of my oldest tea. My cupboard isn’t too bad in the sense of age since this is the oldest and its from July 2019.
This tea is fine but honestly not one I really care for. It’s got a coffee flavor but also a touch of hibiscus. I think that’s where this loses me. The coffee would lend itself nicely to a latte format but the hibiscus means I can’t do that. I think I will toss this into my swap box since I am just not feeling it.
Had this as a latte tonight because I was thinking about a latte all day. I didn’t know what tea I would make as a latte and kept avoiding making that decision. Then I decided I wanted to make an Old Fashioned Gingerbread Latte. Unfortunately, I did not have enough of that tea to make a latte and then the giant bag of this caught my attention. I think I wanted the spice though because this was coming off bland and sweet. I think I just wasn’t in the mood for it.
This tea is interesting because it is a white tea with a lot of black tea notes. Malt and honey really stand out here and yet is also has a touch of hay as well. it’s also a little thicker/syrup-y. It definitely makes for an interesting drink. Unfortunately, it is one I tend to overlook.
