Sipdown (326)
Thank you Sil for sharing this one also! I am trying it now and between the orange and the rosehip/hibiscus (does this have hibiscus?), it is reminding me of Flintsone vitamins. That’s not necessarily bad but I was expecting more creamy flavors given the “smoothie” part of the name. It was enjoyable though.
Sipdown (329)
Thank you Sil for sharing this one with me. It’s weird because (1) I’ve never had a TGY that wasn’t an oolong before and (2) this is a black tea that tastes sort of like a white tea. That’s also a first for me. It’s not bad but different than I expected for sure. It’s got sort of hay notes to it and like yeasty bread with some honey as well. Maybe some cinnamon. I think I like it but I don’t think I need more of it.
Ever make a latte or just a tea and in your head you just know it’s going to be amazing and then you take your first sip and the thought that comes to mind is “oh…that’s it?!” Yes? No? Just me? Because that’s what happened here. Made this as an iced latte and expected just more. More chocolate. More berry. More creamy. More yum. It’s chocolatey but in a semi-sweet/cocoa sort of way. It’s got some berry flavor but not as much as the scent implies. It all just fell a little short for me.

I don’t like these tea drops. I have yet to find one that wasn’t overly sweetened. This tastes like sugar and then grass. Not the worst matcha flavour I’ve had, which surprised me, but the sugar is just over the top.
Yeah, it wasn’t great. I like flavored matchas and don’t overly mind sugar in those to create a flavor but sugary plain matcha seems wrong.
It’s a good idea but they are sweet and none of the flavors intrigue me much either. I got a bunch from an Instagram giveaway though so I am trying them out.
I had this hot and it was better than the cold cup I had. The rooibos was more toned down and the orange was more turned up. Still no ginger but something was a touch buttery which sold shortbread a bit. Bumping the rating slightly from 66.
My high school friends and I used to always do Secret Santa. We then decided we’d rather use the money to do a holiday dinner at a more high-end restaurant than we would usually go to and just have a nice night out. That didn’t happen this year due to Covid so we resorted back to Secret Santa but did it virtually.
Someone suggested having a tea party when we did the gift opening call and no one has to tell me twice to have a cup of tea. I pulled this one out because I have had it before and knew I would be distracted but would still enjoy it. That’s what happened. Delicious marshmallow fluff tea that is smooth and light and yummy.
Tea Pop Sipdown (333)
I don’t like jasmine so I would never pick this for myself. With that said, Deb was kind enough to send this as a sample so I decided to give it a try anyways. I wanted a teapop and this seemed like it could work. It did not work though. It’s like fruity potpourri. And specifically hibiscus tartness and drying jasmine. Sometimes I get orange but that doesn’t help much. It’s a no for me, but that’s probably just my personal tastes.
To be honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this tea either. I think the hibiscus made it a bit too drying for me as well! I could off balance it by adding a lot of sugar, lol! I prefer her orange creamsicle mousse as an iced tea personally.
Sipdown (334)
This is a nice Sipdown given I started with over 100 grams of this. Granted, most was shared with Courtney but emptying a tin is still an accomplishment. Today this is a mango black tea. Just mango and mediocre black tea. That’s not bad but it’s not special, which leaves me okay with saying goodbye to this tea.
Ummm…now I want some!
funny…i didn’t want the “berry” you were looking for the creamy… :)
