Latte Sipdown (321)

I made a small latte using my sample of this because I wanted sweet. This isn’t sweet. This is more spiced chocolate liqueur. I can sort of see where the idea of dark chocolate could be picked up on but it’s not quite that for me. Or if it is dark chocolate, it’s not a great quality dark chocolate, which I guess is what I wanted. It’s not a bad tea but it’s also not one I need more of following this sample.

I made this iced since the package recommends it that way. Personally the lavender just kills it for me. It’s berry but the lavender lingers and makes it a little soapy for me.

It’s Matcha Monday and I have been on a salted caramel kick lately so this seemed like the only option. It didn’t last long because its awesome.

I broke into my stash of this to work as liquid courage. I hate selfies but decided to post one on the Sororitea Sisters instagram page as part of a Meet the Sisters series I wanted to start since the new year. My hair, which I have been attempting to perft with the curly girl method, was looking alright and I decided to just go for it. As for this tea, its one of the oldest in my stash and I have a lot of it but once it is gone it is gone. That’s sad because this is spot on for a lemon poppyseed muffin, the bright yellow one bursting with citrus flavor and topped with a vanilla glaze. It’s accurate and delightful and just what I needed.

Made a latte with this today. I did it once before I recall it being a little disappointing. This latte is also a little disappointing. It smells so good and so I expect gingerbread and caramelized sugar and I am mostly getting flat ginger and milk. It smells like there should be more but there isn’t.

I finished my package of this tea in a latte last night. Thanks to Sil I have more to enjoy though and enjoy I shall.

Thank you Sil for sharing this one with me! I have had salted caramel on the brain for a few days now and this is hitting the spot nicely (though I may make a salted caramel oolong latte later if the mood strikes). I was worried about the rooibos in it would be overwhelming since lately I seem to find rooibos flavor takes over, but its got a soft caramel flavor. There is some of the base but it works with the caramel rather than against it. It tastes like the soft caramel chews you almost only see on Halloween that come wrapped individually in see-through plastic with white writing. It’s not the best caramel flavor but its distinctively caramel and thus doing what I want it to do.

Sil did not have much luck with this so she sent some my way in hopes of me having better luck with it. Thank you for sharing!

In light of Sil’s issues, I decided to make the sample as a latte and I used a mix of homo milk and 1% to give it a bit more body. It’s not bad but also its quite bland. Maybe sort of nutty but not all that interesting.

I was talking to Roswell Strange and asked her to pick a tea for me. Completely randomly, she happened to pick a tea she gave me. So thank you Roswell Strange for both sharing this with me and selecting it for me to drink today!

I started taking sips when it was very hot and the flavor was all plum. However, I am worried that as this cools, it will get a metallic twang at the end of the sip. Something gave me that impression as I drank. As such, I am trying to drink this while very hot. My brother distracted me with talks of Wandavision though so now I am drinking it warm.

As it cools, its more floral, as opposed to more metallic, which is nice. However, the plum flavor faded slightly and that’s less appealing. Good, but not a favorite. Happy to have tried it though.

Iced Latte Sipdown (325)

Dollar Tea Club has been using a picture of my iced latte as their advertisement on Facebook for a while now. They keep getting asked about my recipe and some people have found me on Instagram to ask the same. Consequently, Dollar Tea Club sent me a large bag of this tea to walk people through the recipe. With that said, this tea was never a favorite. It’s fine but it’s sort of mediocre quality black tea and sprinkles. There isn’t much flavour beyond that so I don’t actually want the full bag. Thankfully I’ve been putting together a TTB and that seemed like a good place to toss this tea. Hopefully others will enjoy it or get to experiment with iced lattes like I did!
