Plain and Iced Tea Sipdown (249)
M is for…Muscat Oolong
Thank you for sharing this one with me, Roswell Strange!
When I looked it up on Lupicia’s site, I saw another Muscat Oolong was recommended iced so with the remainder of my sample, I had enough for an iced cup and a hot cup. Decided to just finish it off.
I drank the hot tea earlier when I made this. I then went to shower. I recall the dry grape flavor being really strong and really nice in the hot cup. I don’t recall much more though.
The iced tea I am having now and I think I actually prefer it hot. Iced I am getting less of the grape and it is more floral/drying.
Cold Brew Sipdown (250)
L is not for…Bear Trap
I have been having two cold brews daily and for the most part I have tried to keep it to the applicable letter for that day. With that said, I also prefer my cold brews to be caffeine free teas and since I already had two of Lemon Mango Sherbet, I went off letter. Bear Trap has been my off letter cold brew as late and now I have finished off the package.
In general, its just a solid berry tea option. Not too tart. Not too sweet. A nice balance with a juicy berry flavor. Today there was a lot of blackberry leaf settled on the bottom of the package so it’s sweeter than I usually like. Nevertheless, its nice and I might grab more of this in the future but until then I will work through some other teas as cold brews.
L is for…Leia’s Hope
The fruit notes come through loudly in the front of the sip. A whole bunch of tropical right up front and coming in strong. That dissolves to a slightly brisk black tea which I think is coming off more brisk than it is from the floral note of jasmine at the end.
Iced Sipdown (253)
L is for…Lemonatcha
This is the second Lemonade-inspired matcha I am having in honor of the “L” day falling on #MatchaMonday. Like the other, this also came from Roswell Strange so thank you for both!!
This one specifically instructed making it as an iced tea. While I considered making it the exact same way as Lemonade Matcha, I decided I would rather have the sample as it is recommended to be had by the company. That said, it was also made a few hours ago and the ice is gone now. So maybe I am having them the same way after all…room temperature. Also from sitting, the cup has a clear gradient of clear water on top and dark powder at the bottom.
This one is much more my speed than Lemonade Matcha was. This is much sweeter and closer to lemonade. The matcha is secondary to the flavoring. Granted, its a preference thing since I know some people prefer to taste matcha first and then flavoring but this is much more to my personal tastes. It’s sweet, refreshing, and has a great lemonade flavor that is just so bright and delightful. The last mouthful is the only time I tasted matcha at all and it was because I got the settled powder. Even still, it was mostly hidden by the sugary lemonade flavor.

L is for…Lemonade Matcha
Thank you for sharing this with me, Roswell Strange! It was fun to break out not one but two Lemonade Matchas to try side-by-side for #MatchaMonday and “L” day. Both came from you, so thank you so much!
This one I made hot…hours ago. So it’s cooled. Oops.
As for the matcha itself, it’s very grassy. I am getting hardly any lemon here and any I am getting is coming off Pledge-like when mixed with the thicker grassiness. It’s also a touch chalky. If I am being honest, a lot of these 3 Leaf Tea matchas haven’t been for me because my favourite part of flavored matchas is the flavouring. These are light on flavor and just not for me.
L is for… Lemon Mango Sherbet
How does the day go by so quickly? And why do I procrastinate so much? I intended to finish my research memo today. It’s past 3:30 pm and I haven’t started working on it. I am close to being done – 2 pages away from completing my 20-page paper – but I just can’t bring myself to focus. Instead I purchased 2 skirts and made lots of tea and it’s all sitting next to me.
This has cold brewed for hours/overnight. It’s refreshing enough but its mostly green rooibos with some lemon. The aftertaste is green rooibos and very subtle mango. I just find a want more of the flavor and less of the base. It’s alright to drink but unremarkable in the grand scheme of things.
