Sipdown (200)
Trying to get in some last minute sipdowns before the month ends. Trying to make up for the lack of tea drinking earlier in the month. This was an easy sipdown. It was especially easy because I dumped most of it.
While this was actually one of the better tea drops I’ve had and it did have a touch of a ginger burn, the sugar in these are just too much. Sugar is actually the first ingredient in the list and it definitely tastes like it. Since I don’t usually add sugar to my drinks, I find this overly sweet for my tastes.
Sipdown (196)
Made this as a hot tea last night. Left the tea steeping in it and only took the teabag out today in the afternoon. I’m only now drinking it.
This is fine. Sweet apple. Fairly crisp apple actually. The slightest touch of creaminess but not overtly custard.
I’m having this iced because Roswell Strange was kind enough to randomly pick it while I was was being indecisive earlier. It’s got a slight peach flavor but there is a bitterness at the front of the sip that’s hard to get passed. I want to like it but it just isn’t my favourite.
Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam Latte Sipdown (197)
I’m done!!! I’m finally finished. Fingers crossed I passed and don’t need to do this again but even if I do, it won’t be for a while and so I get to finally relax! I have over a month for work to start and I’m so excited to do so many things. Among those things is getting back to my tea…and trying to get some sipdowns in before the month ends. This makes for my third sipdown this month.
This was a delicious latte. The cold foam has a melted ice cream consistency so it paired perfectly with the root beer quality of this tea. It really helped bring the whole flavor together.
Iced Latte Sipdown (198)
I haven’t been drinking much tea but a couple nights back I got inspired to attempt to make vanilla sweet cream (which can be used to make cold foam). I ordered French Vanilla syrup and it arrived this weekend so I made some up.
I made the first latte yesterday using Hummingbird by AQ2T. Funnily enough I asked Roswell Strange what I should do with my concoction before making the latte and her suggestions were an Earl Grey or Bananas. Without actually seeing this, I made it with a banana tea yesterday. I debated an Earl Grey but wasn’t interested in that flavour profile. I laughed when I realized we had the same idea though.
Anyways, today I thought the Earl Grey would be fun and as one of my oldest teas, I thought it would be a good call to finish this off. Plus I tend to enjoy this as an iced latte anyways and thought the French vanilla in the cold foam would compliment the rose in this tea nicely. I was right since drinking this was delightful. It was like an affogato almost since the cold foam has a thicker/creamy consistency with a classic vanilla custard/ice cream profile thanks to the French vanilla flavouring. That combined with the soft notes of bergamot and rose made for such a lovely drink. A wonderful way to see this off.
I think I will get other flavoured syrups for further experimentation. So many options…
