Everytime I have this I’m reminded that it’s actually quite delicious.

Anne nailed the cobbler element with rich cinnamon and pastry notes. Just so very tasty.

Peach is also present but it’s a baked peach flavor that isn’t overwhelming.

The honeybush does come through a fair bit and I would say that’s maybe the one downfall here but even that is not offensive. The honeybush does play into the “cobbler” element nicely enough.

I am fan of this one. Thanks for sharing, Sil!

The pineapple flavor here is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Plus, it pairs nicely with the touch of cheesecake tang.

I tried the pineapple upside down cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and wasn’t a huge fan…but this pineapple cheesecake I like very much!

As I continue to enjoy this, my only complaint would maybe be the green tea base but that is obviously a personal preference and not a reflection on this lovely tea

I am completely lost timing-wise with gong fu steeping because it’s been a while. The gongfu session from the other day had timing thanks to teabento. In fact, I’m so out to lunch with timing that I literally just poured the water, zoned out, and then poured it out. I have no clue how long my first steep was but the tea came out nicely – leather and nutty.

Steeping the rest super haphazardly while watching season 3 of Good Girls. The following steeps are similar to the first. It’s been a nice way to finish this off.

More like a white tea than a green. Beans and corn and much better than I thought it would be as someone who is not a fan of green teas. Thank you for sharing, Angel from TeaVivre!

Had this tea, which was kindly shared with me by Roswell Strange (thank you!), while trying a Montreal style bagel company called OKO Bagels. I don’t remember the tea distinctly since my head has seemingly been out to lunch today but I do know it paired nicely with both a sesame bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese and a cinnamon sugar bagel with Canadian Maple cream cheese. Pretty good brunch!

There’s a lot of passion fruit here and I’m into it. I’d get this again.

According to Instagram, I had my first gongfu session a year ago today with this tea. I celebrated by having a gongfu session with this tea. It was nice but I’m doing a work project so I was a bit distracted and can’t really remember much more about it.

drank Banoffee Pie by Pudtea

Roswell Strange messaged me to try this and that peaked my curiosity so I brewed up a cup. She did 1 pftsp in boiling for 4 mins and I did the same amount in 200F for 3 mins. She loved it but for me it seemed a bit bland at first. As it cooled, a lot more flavor has come out but for me it is a lot more banana bread than banoffee pie. Though I do get some of the caramelized condensed milk that is the filling of banoffee pie. I am a fan but next time I will be trying Roswell’s steeping parameters.

I don’t know why this caught my eye today. It was one of the teas that arrived in the Amoda box that I received when I forgot to cancel it after the 52 Teas box. Tbh, it is not a tea I anticipated liking so I gave most of it away when I sent the box of teas to my friend. I saved one serving for myself though because the mission is to try all the teas, isn’t it?

It’s a whole lot of rosemary. Surprising, I know. Rosemary and citrus. It’s not bad actually and if this is a flavor you like in tea, it might actually be good. The cup, which I half expected to dump, is gone. Not something I would have again but I wouldn’t turn down a glass if that’s what someone put in front of me.

tea-sipper

I guess the mission IS to try all the teas, which is fun because it can never be accomplished. It’s fun to try anyway. haha

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
