6444 Tasting Notes
Put about 3 tsps of this into milk and had it sit for hours and then I added boba to it. On the plus side, this is Amy as sweet as the last one. On the negative side, I don’t taste much banana or really any of the tea…so I need to keep experimenting.
Iced with Strawberry Vanilla Cold Foam Sipdown (214)
This cold foam plays off the flavours in the iced tea a lot better, highlighting the strawberry and vanilla while allowing the bergamot to tie things together. I never loved this tea since I’m not a huge bergamot fan but this was an awesome cup to finish it off with.
Bought instant boba at Costco that is brown sugar boba pearls so I tried to think what could hold up in milk and pair with brown sugar. This stood out because I thought the brown sugar may add to the “cookie” while mint chip is best in milk. Unfortunately the boba is super sweet so while this is good, it’s not quite what I thought it would be. Will need to tweak.
For a couple of days I had been thinking about making a mojito type drink with tea. Since I figured other flavours might stand out more, I decided to go with a plain black tea I was pretty meh about trying. This was that tea and I made it over ice with mint leaves and lime juice. I then topped that all with some pineapple sparkling water. After a taste, I realized I was a bit heavy handed with the lime juice so I opted to add a splash of vanilla syrup to offset the tart citrus. That actually rounded out the flavour perfectly making this bright, sweet and super refreshing. The tea provided a solid foundation for the other flavours to thrive. I’d have it like this again but also I should probably try it plain once.
Ordered from my local kombucha place again for the first time in probably a year or so because of this seasonal flavour – a combo of pineapple and habanero hot sauce. It actually has a bit of a kick which made this pretty tasty. The company recommended adding sparkling water to it so I’ll try that with my next glass.
