379 Tasting Notes
It’s a very relaxing cup of tea with nice toasted rice and a seaweed-marine aroma. The liquor was a somewhat cloudy, golden yellow with green hues. The taste is delightful. A tasty genmaicha with very light bitterness and light astringency, delicately sweet but nothing artificial. Strong notes of toasted popped rice, popcorn, umami, vegetal, a delicate subtle sencha.
I’ve had it hot and cold brew. The cold brew has no bitterness. I prefer it hot.
Hope you are all doing well. :D

Mixed reviews on this one hehe. I like it.
Thank you so much tea-sipper for sending me this. As many of you say, it is chocolatey but I really like the roasty toasty nutty flavor. It’s on the light side of maple but although I like maple, I don’t require very much of the taste to make things I eat or drink tasty. For example, on pancakes, I just spread a tablespoon on the top pancake lol. I wish I could say the same about butter! I can drown it in butter and be a happy camper. I’m a salty over sweet type of person so this tea was very very good to me. It is one of my favorites out of the whole wonderful package that tea-sipper sent me awhile ago. I’m going to put it on my wishlist for the future.
Hope all is well and safe with you.

I have quite a bit of different Dan Cong tea from Yunnan Sourcing. After trying most of them, and other vendors as well… I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not the vendor but Dan Cong tea just isn’t for me. It’s far too flowery, perfumey-like for me. So please note that in my rating. You may find it to be a 95 if you love Dan Cong oolong. ^^
Setting that aside, hehe, the tea has large leaves that have a roasted aroma. The liquor is a deep clear brown with the aroma of stonefruits, honey. It has a thick mouthfeel, rich flavor, fruity with hints of stonefruits (peach, apricot) and apple notes. It’s quite flowery, has roasted seeds notes with notes of the sweetness of honey. There is a very long lingering taste of orchid at the end, a floral finish.

Quick additional notes: I finally tried it with a little half and half (1T in 16 oz), and one small drop of honey. It’s wonderful this way for a night drink. You still get the tart aftertaste followed with more creaminess. It balances it out even more to me. I know I said I was going to try it as a latte but haven’t got there quite yet lol. I’m drinking a lot of my TeaVivre teas lately, and feeling for them and other companies whose businesses are affected by Coronavirus.

Very nice. :D Thank you tea-sipper!
Notes of baked bread, light caramel, vanilla, multiple fruit notes of berries, stonefruits, maybe some cherry notes. A little sweetness but not overwhelmingly so, malty, pretty bold and with a tsp of cream it was wonderful for breakfast. My darn stomach doesn’t like tea in the morning so much anymore /cry.
I hope you are all doing good. I’ve become quite a review-voyeur lol since I’m still working on sipdowns. I’m enjoying all of your reviews <3 as always.

Glad you like it! Their older flavoring for this was even better. I hope your stomach improves for your morning tea!
Aww hehe well this one was very good so I am happy with it. Thank you! I am kind of getting used to a tsp of cream in my morning coffee. Since I started trying flavored, that’s what I drink in the morning since they go well with cream. After that, it seems I can drink any tea straight. :D
Dried leaves smelled of dried grass. Long light brown leaves. Liquor is medium amber with a molasses aroma. I like this tea a lot better gongfu. It’s rather complex so it changes throughout the infusions. Beginning with malt, sweet potato, molasses, a little mushroom and then as the infusions continued… A little cocoa, caramel, honey, and mineral notes. Sweet potato, malt, some baked bread throughout the infusions. I can’t determine what type of spice but there is a little spice in the finish (cloves?) and a cooling feeling on the tongue as well. Almost mint but not quite. If you like Yunnan black tea, you may want to give this one a try. ^^

Sipdown. Boy, are my sipdowns super slow. In the beginning, I bought way too much of a tea at a time.
The dry leaf smelled good, sweet caramel aroma. It brewed to a pretty deep red, liquor smells of caramel. To me though, the flavor came off as artificial. I do like that it wasn’t overly sweet, but this caramel/toffee flavor rooibos just wasn’t for me. To be fair, I admit that I’m not a huge fan of rooibos and I drink it for health purposes. The strawberry is by far the best of the three.

The first time I tried it Cameron B. sent me some. Ah, I got to try this again. Thank you TeaSipper! Lightly cinnamon, just the right amount. I love Cinnamon but not overly done cinnamon that it masks all the other flavors. This was just right. Freshly baked apple hints, french toast, maple goodness, buttery, bready… And not overly sweet at all. Nice balance. This time I tried it was a splash of heavy cream. Oh my, a delicious breakfast for me today hehe.

I am a fan of Jin Guan Yin. I have never tried Jin Guan Yin Black. Rich, complex tea with many different dried fruit notes. Fruity. Maybe some grape, melon notes. Throughout the infusions, I got some passionfruit, baked peach, stonefruits, fig. In the earlier infusions, some sweet notes, of caramel, sugarcane, honey with maltiness. Certainly, not your average “black” tea. It has a nice creamy textured mouthfeel and a lingering fruity, malty taste.

Like most of David’s Tea that I’ve tried. I have to do a pre-rinse because it is just too sweet (stevia) for me. I think most people won’t find it too sweet at all but I prefer teas with no sweetener. I like it much better with a splash of heavy whipping cream. Once I get rid of the extra sweetness, it’s yummy. It has a delicious baked berry flavor, very dessert-like.
Flavors: Almond, Blueberry, Fruity, Nutty
Hope you are well, too! (:
Thank you, Nattie! I’m doing well. <3
hmm, they call this herbal but there is sencha?
tea-sipper True lol. Never thought about that. Definitely has Sencha in it!
I would expect “Genmaicha Herbal Tea” to be just the genmai (rice) which is actually a thing you can get in Japan, to either steep as a tea in and of itself or as an additive (I like them in houjicha).
