From MissB.

Whoa. This smells so good as it’s brewing, but drinking it, it’s pretty much just hibiscus. I even added some honey, and it’s super mega sour.

I wish it was truly more strawberry. I think I liked the cranberry raspberry tea better.

I didn’t like this at all hot. But cold…wow…YUM! This is definitely always stored iced in my fridge for when I need my thirst quenched and water, well, let’s be real here, water tastes boring. :)

I enjoy this tea immensely. I even go crazy sometimes and have it at morning tea time. It is comforting and familiar, not too strong but certainly has a distinct flavour.

Morning tea! Oh how delicious you are, Mrs. Grey.

On another note, November Tea Sparrow boxes are on their way, and guess what’s included in this month’s box? BUDDHA BAMBOO! WHOO! I am SUPER excited for this one, as I went to Tea Sparrow’s Tea-Off tasting event last month and Buddha Bamboo was my absolute favourite from all the different teas I tasted there. I wanted to go buy some right away afterwards from the vendor (since Tea sparrow was only selling sample sizes), but there’s a $15 shipping fee tacked on on orders under $50… and I wasn’t quite ready to buy $50 dollars worth of Buddha Bamboo, so unfortunately I left the vendor’s website empty-handed. Fortunately, I get to experience the wonders of this magical tea yet again!

I bought some of POM’s Pomegranate Super Tea at IGA Market today because it was half-priced; yay for fast-approaching expiry dates! It was actually really delicious! Such a shame that they are quite expensive otherwise. I could definitely taste the tartness of the black tea in there, but it was balanced out really well with the pomegranate juice and sweet cane sugar! Yuummm! It was a really nice treat at the end of my work day. :)

My absolute favourite spin on Earl Grey tea. This tea smells so good, and the taste is even better! I love the citrusy hit this tea gives, and the flavour profile is so bold and satisfying to drink. I am always always excited to have this tea!

So this is the tea that started it all for me. My entire life I got used to drinking supermarket tea and was fine with that…until I tried this one. This is technically a supermarket tea, but definitely higher on the shelf than your standard Lipton’s and Tetley Teas. The aroma from this is just the most pleasantly soothing smell I’ve ever experienced. The bergamot is very pronounced and warm and comforting. The taste is, well, also warm and comforting. I drink this normally without any cream or sugar, but when I’m feeling like I need a special treat, I will make a London Fog out of this and it is just absolutely amazing. Do try it! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

TBH I kinda wish there was actually raspberry leaf in this tea.

Today I made it in a travel mug and I’ve brought it to work. It tastes a bit more like dirt, probably because of the echinacea root. And it’s sourer. More sour. Whatever. Probably due to the increased heat preservation of the travel mug VS a regular mug.

I still kinda like it. And I really hope I don’t get sick.

Indigobloom

stay healthy!!

keychange

I hope you don’t get sick either! and I know what you mean about increased heat preservation changing flavours. Weird how that works.

OMGsrsly

Thanks, Indigobloom!

And Keychange, I also think that a cold ceramic mug cools the water a lot more and faster than a vacuum sealed metal one.

keychange

Yeah exactly. And the heat retention affects the flavor, even after the tea in a steel mug has cooled…

OMGsrsly

Yup. :) In some ways I’m glad my steel mugs don’t fit my steeping baskets. Forces me to brew in a cup or a small tea pot before pouring my tea into the mug.

I’m pretty sure this one is from MissB at some point through Sil. Maybe.

It tastes like candy raspberry. It’s a little bland and a tiny bit sour on its own, so I added some honey.

Apparently there’s licorice in this, but it’s basically undetectable. It’s the second to last ingredient.

Anyways, I think I might be getting sick (noooooo) so I’ll be sure to finish this tea up post haste.

2 tea bags, 5 minutes, 16 oz, 195F.

Fjellrev

Nooo I hope you aren’t. I thought I was the other day too but miraculously woke up the next day feeling fine again.

OMGsrsly

My throat has been sore in one spot for the last 3 or so days, so I’m really not sure. Could just be general bodily grumpiness. :)

Fjellrev

I sure hope so! Though I hope that’ll go away too. :)

This pure peppermint tea tasted great! I guess it is hard to mess up/go wrong with a pure peppermint tea.

Really didn’t like this tea – I bought a few teabagged black teas because I’ve run very low on loose-leaf black teas and I won’t get my latest orders for a couple of weeks, but this one was a mistake.

It tastes and smells to me very strongly of bonfire smoke, and very faintly of fish. The underlying tea-taste is too watery and disappointing.

I finished these tea bags I had for a while already. Not too big a fan of green tea, but this is surely the other opposite, of a near tasteless brew, that gives you the same amount of apple flavour as of pear as of green tea…making it a hot drink that even tea haters can have without any problem.

I was somewhat disappointed in this tea. I expected more flavours and spices but instead it was too similar to a standard black tea. Not bad but definitely not great. Perhaps Twinings played up the ‘exotic quality’ of the tea which may have partially dashed my hopes.

A virtuoso blend that manages to approximate the complexity, sweet tobacco notes and faintest hint of smoke of a premium keemun, while adding enough robustness and fullness on the tongue to pair well with milk and sugar. Rich, smooth flavour with light toasty/coppery notes and a slight bump of malt.

On a historical note, the flavour of this blend seems to refer to the original English Breakfast blend from the time when most teas came from China. At that time, pure keemun was used for this tea, and the “breakfast” in the name referred to the natural notes resembling toasted bread.

Very nice tea! The aroma from the chai spices and herbs definitely sets it apart. The taste and aftertaste are equally pleasing. They are subtle and not too overpowering. Great work Twinings!

Pretty standard Earl Grey taste, yet it’s one I’ve really come to associate with comforting – I could drink EG all day, every day. I have been hunting for a decaf blend for a while, because I really enjoy having this at night, but a caffienated version doesn’t do me any favours, so I was happy to find this.
