Hoálatha supposedly sent me more of this in our last swap.

I might go to the store and pick some of this up. I really think it’d be a great tea for work. Especially when it gets cold in the office, I’d like to be drinking something so tasty as this. I rated it 75/100 the last time, but I might bump it up. I think what I must’ve done when steeping this last was brewing it for 3-5 minutes. However, I forgot about it today and unintentionally brewed it close to ten minutes; which resulted in creating a hot spice mead like beverage, rather than a tea.

Tea Swap Tea

I really liked the caramel apple profile to this one. I was sad to finish the cup, but I must say that it was a nice tea to begin the day with.

Flavors: Apple, Caramel, Spices, Sweet

Sounds like another good one to hunt down—love apple teas!

’Tis a good tea then! Spicy caramel apple! Mmmmm..

This will always be a staple in my collection. It is definitely my go-to tea when I am running out of others or when I can’t decide what I want. I think the flavor is also great considering it’s a decaf tea. I love this tea plain just as much as I like it with a splash of milk.

You can always count on Twinings. This is a nice tea, lighter and less smoky than other gunpowder teas I have tried, but enough smokiness and sweetness to make for a very enjoyable cup. I steeped it 3 times, and probably could have gone at least once more.

I thought it would taste good, after all it has been considered the champagne of teas. It tastes bland. Thought I added too much water. Steeped longer then. Aha… still bland. Quite disappointing.

This tea is fairly tasty, considering the price and that it’s decaf. I’m getting a bit of a malty note but also a bit of a fruity note. This could become something I drink in the afternoons. It’s good for when I can’t have caffeine.

Steeped two teabags in a 16oz mug for 3 minutes with 200 degree water.

I was very tired and decided to have a cup of tea to wake myself up. This is my first time trying Lady Grey. It’s very similar to Earl Grey but lighter. Very nice and I’m certainly feeling more awake and relaxed :)

This tea is decent tea. It is not spectacular but it is tasty. And for the price I paid it is better than I was expecting. It’s got a nice flavor, not sure if you would call it muscatell like an expensive Darjeeling. In any case it is good enough to drink again.

I steeped this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 2 minutes. The leaves of this tea are very very fine so I guessed it would steep fast and gave it less time.

This was never added to my cupboard, but it is about a 2 year old teabag I finally sipped down at work today. Sipdown being a relative term..I actually am throwing out the rest of the mug because it was just too bitter and blech for me. The lavender and EG really did not mix well for me, or I brewed it too strongly haha. Whatever it was, not my cup of tea! Ah well, it’s gone now! No rating in case it was just me brewing it too long (I don’t really pay attention to brew time at work haha).

Was going through my tea cupboard and found a sachet of this. It smells very fruity and lovely in the sense that it’s sweet. I may have tried this once before, but I can’t remember. The first thing I taste is sweet orange, and its very good. I added a little sugar to enhance the taste, although I’m sure it could go without. I just really love orangey kind of teas. I haven’t found many of them so far.
The only thing I don’t like about this tea is there’s a weird aftertaste I cannot place. It has been sitting in my cupboard, so maybe that’s it. But it’s nothing I can’t handle. This tea is still sweet and fruity goodness.

Yours truly (J) was excited to try his first Twinings loose leaf tea, received as a gift from J’s work. It is described as a breakfast tea that is a blend of leaves from British Commonwealth countries to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

It doesn’t have any added flavors, so it’s just a black tea blend, which is exactly what the first steeping (1tsp / 8oz / 4min ) tasted and smelled like. It was pleasant but boring: Somewhat light in flavor and in tannin, and without any signature flavor or scents. I’m new to detecting subtle flavors, so that could be the reason I’d just call it ‘tea’.

Second steeping (6min) added milk until beige (1-2 tsp) to simulate the British experience. The milk drowned out a lot of the tea flavor, so next time I would use less milk or only add it to the first steeping.

The best part is the tin. It’s decorative and festive; fun while remaining pretty classy.

This stuff is not bad considering the price I paid. It has a note of malt and a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Overall it is goof for the price of the tea.

I brewed this once in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 minutes.

Delicious to the last drop and holds up to multiple infusions beautifully. The later infusions are more delicate and sweet. I love how much the leaves expand.

This is a fairly nice tasting tea for the price. It is by no means spectacular. The main note seems to be malt, but subdued. If I had paid a lot for this I would have been disappointed. For $4.99 it’s not bad.

I steeped this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 min. I you decide to order from Twinnings or see it in your local market it is at least worth a try.

Along with their English Breakfast, Prince of Wales is my favorite loose leaf tea from Twinings. I totally agree with you – For $4.99 it’s not bad at all!

Bought this because a couple other Twinnings teas I bought were fairly good. This one I am unsure about. I ruined my taste buds with lunch right before this and I think I am still tasting the cashew butter and jelly sandwich I made. So I will have to reevaluate this at a later time.

I brewed 3 tsp leaf in 200 degree water in a 16ozTeavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper for 3 minutes.

I haven’t had this in the loose leaf version, but I enjoyed the bags…a little light, but decent flavor. Keep us posted on what you think about it next time!

I will try it again one day soon and post another review.

Mike

Awesome, thanks! Hope you enjoy it!

Suffering from Twinings envy :) Prince of Wales isn’t one that’s easy to find locally. Another one to add to my out-of-town search list.
