This isn’t anything revolutionary, but at $2 for 48 bags, it’s quite a bargain—and better tasting than some other green teas of similar cheap quality. Be warned: the box says to brew 1-2 minutes, but I found that brewing for any more than one minute makes it too bitter.
Light, earthy/grassy flavors, even after a long steep. I love this tea plain. It’s not bitter or acidic and satisfies that craving for warm and savory.
Flavors: Earth, Grass

I got this tea from Trader Joe’s the last time I was there. I actually don’t like plain mate on its own so I won’t bother to rate this for now. I like the way it makes me feel but it seems so bitter, even after sugar is added. I got this hoping I would find some other stuff to mix it with to make it more palatable. I am thinking licorice might be a good place to start because it is on the sweet side…
The plain mates seem to go well with chocolate teas quite well. I also use chocolate stevia drops with my plain mates.
I saw this the other day at Trader Joe’s and picked it up out of curiosity. It was the only loose tea they had other than Matcha. I was curious to try it and picked it tonight as green tea has less caffeine than black tea or puerh, at least according to my Gastroenterologist, who should tell me to drink Puerh as his name is Dr Shou. For the price I paid it isn’t bad, not great but not bad. There are strong notes of coconut, lemongrass, and ginger, all added to this tea. There is little bitterness or astringency and little vegetal flavor at all. The tea leaves are elongated and flat, like a sencha although I don’t know that it is a Sencha. It is from Japan according to the package. I am interested to try this iced. I won’t rate this tea highly but it will get a comparatively good rating, considering it is up against Mandala and Butiki. I didn’t give all of my teas from Butiki a 100% after all.
I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 3 min.
Flavors: Coconut, Ginger, Lemongrass

I got a sample sachet of this from my apartment complex. It was fully exposed to the air for about two weeks. Whoops. Well from the aroma of the dry leaf, it doesn’t seem to have affected it. I infused this for three minutes, which was probably longer than I should have. The liquor is very dark red. The brewed tea aroma is recognizably pumpkin spice and red rooibos.
Now I don’t really like red rooibos. So take my opinion on this tea with a grain of salt. This is ok. The aftertaste is strongly medicinal. The spice comes across well as does the pumpkin flavor. I think most people would probably enjoy this a lot. It definitely strikes me as a well-blended pumpkin spice tea. I just can’t get past the rooibos base to want more of this.

This one does best with a 2-minute steep with some brown sugar and a splash of milk! I haven’t picked up any this year yet, but if I make it over to TJ’s, I will. :)
You can easily find better chai, but you can easily find worse. I probably won’t buy it again, but it was cheap. At least it isn’t dominated by cinnamon, like a lot of bagged chai in America. It may have a hint of imitation vanilla aftertaste, or that may be my imagination.
Preparation
I was at Trader Joe’s last week, and picked up this tea. There I am, standing in Trader Joe’s, pulling up Steepster to see if the tea is any good or not.
I tried it last night. I thought it was pretty good. It was different, but I seem to like a whole lot of white teas out there. I could taste the pear and the white tea…not so sure about the ginger. There are plenty of tea bags left to try to figure it all out.
Preparation
someone here decided to make me a cup of tea since I seemed down. Not down so much as perplexed as every few minutes everything for my schedule changes and then I am supposed to run in a different direct. I always seem to be behind too (as in oh you are going to AK in sept not next year, why don’t’ you have everything lined up. I need a presentation for Thursday, oh no how about in 2 weeks and no presentation). So this tea stopped me, hey this is a decent green its got hints of jasmine but I wouldn’t have said “jasmine” if I hadn’t checked to see where it came from. More of a floral sweet green not very deep in flavor but a nice sipping drink that pulled me right out of the artificial race.
Flavors: Floral, Sweet

This is actual a travel staple for me. The strong vanilla and cinnamon notes tame bad water taste on the road. So for vanilla tea week I broke out a box with the happy lemur looking at me while drinking his tea I just had to cheer up. Its foggy out and I can feel the warm cinnamon opening my eyes and lifting the fog. The black on this tea is a bit harsh something I like in a wake up morning tea. The vanilla is strong in the scent and mixes on the tongue with the cinnamon. Adding some honey enhances the vanilla sweetness. I think its great for a bagged tea and for the price! Also you can’t really over steep, I’ve accidentally left it over 10 minutes with no additional bitterness.

yes I stock up and store it sealed up in plastic boxes in a cool spot so I have enough to make it through the year. I just went shopping and found a new TJ’s tea coconut lemongrass green. I’m not sure if that’s something I’d like but the price was right so its hopped into the cart
ugh, this is my favorite tea! it’s just so delicious, i can’t get over it. sometimes i get strong butterscotch, other times cinnamon oatmeal raisin cookie. i was devastated to know it was only seasonal so i searched far and wide to find it at other stores.
Rosehips- you’re in luck! this tea is the exact same thing as Celestial Seasonings’ Nutcracker Sweet, which is available year round! if u can’t find it in stores, try the CS website :)
*i’m 99.9% sure it is the same tea, believe me, i have several boxes of each and there’s no difference!
Work buddy brought me a snack bag of this to try—it’s just lovely! Light and leans heavy to the sweet coconut cream side. First cuppa was so sweet I added just a pinch of fresh leaf and am attempting a second steep, chilled. Will be tasty for a feet-up after VBS Day 1. I have two phenomenal teenage helpers—one of whom showed up in fedora and trench coat and cheerfully provided secret agent code names for my little pod of nine-year-olds. Henceforth, you may refer to me as Captain Bigelow.
I usually don’t buy mixed teas but I saw this in Trader Joe’s and I’ve never seen loose tea there before so I figured I’d give it a shot. It has a nice fresh taste to it, the coconut is definitely present but not overpowering. It slightly reminds me of thai curry, but I guess that is just the coconut flavor. Overall a nice different tea for the 6 dollars it cost me.
