drank Coconut Green Tea by Trader Joe's
1758 tasting notes

I saw this the other day at Trader Joe’s and picked it up out of curiosity. It was the only loose tea they had other than Matcha. I was curious to try it and picked it tonight as green tea has less caffeine than black tea or puerh, at least according to my Gastroenterologist, who should tell me to drink Puerh as his name is Dr Shou. For the price I paid it isn’t bad, not great but not bad. There are strong notes of coconut, lemongrass, and ginger, all added to this tea. There is little bitterness or astringency and little vegetal flavor at all. The tea leaves are elongated and flat, like a sencha although I don’t know that it is a Sencha. It is from Japan according to the package. I am interested to try this iced. I won’t rate this tea highly but it will get a comparatively good rating, considering it is up against Mandala and Butiki. I didn’t give all of my teas from Butiki a 100% after all.

I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 3 min.

Flavors: Coconut, Ginger, Lemongrass

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 3 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

I am Allan. I live and work in Long Island, New York. I have been amassing a tea collection for nearly two years and have spent way too much money. I now try to buy mostly Puerh as I like it most and it lasts nearly forever. Black tea has a habit of going bad. If anyone is interested in tea swaps I am open to ideas and have quite a cupboard.
