Quite possibly one of my favorite teas to have with a bit of milk and dark honey (I prefer avocado). It is incredibly smooth, with hints of malt, and no bitter bite of tannin. I’ve had a whole pot to myself, and could easily go for another.

I might have oversteeped this one but it is good and has a slight sweetness to it; it is a bit overly-bitter but I think if one were to steep it properly it would taste much better.

So I ended making my only sample of this tea bag for someone else but tried it. I assumed I wouldn’t like it but ended quite liking it which was unfortunate since it still went to my friend. I got this tea bag from a family member who received it on a European cruise.

Dry bag: smells fruity like marionberries

taste: fruity with a hint of rose flavor, after all it does come from a rose. Slightly tart but easily fixed with some honey.
The color brews up this beautiful color that reminds me of hibiscus or beets. Would make a lovely lip stain!

Very flavourful vanilla. Good balance is struck between vanilla and rooibos in this blend.

This was kindly given to me by a dear friend who said it just wasn’t her thing. Good call to give it to me, since I’m famous for loving flavored black teas. I really like a good coconut scented black. It smelled a bit perfumey, almost soapy, which was strange, but I needed to actually brew it. “Brew it, then review it” should be my mantra (sorry, a bit champagne tipsy right now, this IS Valentine’s Day, after all!). Anyway, tried it hot, and the flavor was pleasant, but that soapiness was readily apparent and spoiled it. I decided that sometimes making it iced can dampen some unpleasant off flavors, so I tried it that way as well. No luck. Still soapy. So this is a thumbs down, unfortunately. With so many coconut and coconut/vanilla teas out there that are delicious, I wasn’t going to waste any more of my time with this one. Out it goes…

Rather dark and a bit tart, maybe try a bit cooler water next time. But good for the office, it’s not too arresting and can be drunk on the side.

trying to get to my samples today since there’s a package at the post office that could be one of two things – both with a number of teas. :) This one was from courtney and is not a bad cup for this morning. There’s a bit of astringency in the cup, which i don’t mind at all in this particular case. This continues to reaffirm my opinion that ronnefeldt teas are sort of middle ground for me, so totally doable at a reasonable price point, but not something i MUST HAVE. so thanks for the wide range of teas from them to try courtney!

finished off the last of this from courtney, for no other reason than i wanted a solid black AND because it meant a sipdown haha. Not actively working on them today but if i can get to 140, i will be a happy camper :) thanks for sharing this one with me courtney!

this came to me from the lovely courtney as I asked her for a few of the ronnefeldt teas she had so i could try them as a company. This is not your malty sort of assam. Instead it’s more of a fruitier (but not a la taiwanese tea sort of fruity) cup of tea. There’s a boldness here that i can get behind, that is nice this morning. Thanks for sharing this one with me courtney!

Courtney

I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)

Received this one in my swap with Courtney. I love assam. I am sure I have said in many of my reviews that CTC assam is one of my all time favourite teas.

This one is not a CTC version, but the leaves are quite small. There is not much smell to the tea dry. Brewed there is a very, very light assam smell. Slightly sweet.

The brewed tea is OK. I had quite high hopes for this one. I am not getting any malt, which is the most disappointing part. It is only moderately bold. There is a mild sweet honey flavour. I am not getting much spice either that is described in the description of this tea. To me, this one is almost bordering on a Ceylon. I am also getting a light metallic tang in the aftertaste, which I have had with some assams before.

The tea itself it good, I just prefer a much bolder and maltier assam. I think it may have been better with a larger quantity of tea, I used 1 tsp which is what I normally use.

Sorry this one wasn’t the best for you. I also love Assams, especially the malt of course.

Lala

That’s ok. You never know if you try. That is the great (and maybe not so great) thing about swaps. You get to try a bunch of teas to see if you like them, without committing to large amounts. I was still very happy to try it.

Courtney

Very true. :) I’m excited to try your homemade tea!

Lala

Handmade tea, maybe? That is the company name, it is a monthly tea service :)

Courtney

Ohhh. I thought it said handmade. Well, that’s not quite as fun haha. :P

I was expecting a slight orange taste yet I still wanted to taste the tea. It smelled like a Vitamin C tablet and tasted like Vitamin C as well, very medicinal taste for me but might be worth it for someone that likes a zesty blend.

A tea bag my co-worker gave me. It tastes like berry juice! I swear there are more blueberries in there that anything else.

This is another from Annie’s gift woot.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a straight Darjeeling, and I’ve seen such mixed reviews on how people feel about them I was completely unsure what to expect. I am enjoying this cup overall. I’m getting the subtlest hint of mineral in the background, but essentially it’s a nice, simple cup of black tea. There is a wee bit of astringency here, but nothing offensive.

Overall, this is an okay herbal tea.

I generally don’t like Chai teas unless I’m making Milk tea, and I did not think this tea would taste good with Milk. This is not spicy so its okay.

I also don’t like liquorice but the blend of other herbs balances out the flavor; the ginger adds a bit of spice to offset the sweet liquorice.

For me, this will be an acquired taste but it isn’t a bad tea.

Had a lovely cup of this, shared with three coworkers, at work this afternoon. This is a lovely tea, especially in the afternoon, and even if you aren’t a huge bergamot fan.
