I purchased several Ronnefeldt blends a few months ago from Cup of Tea (who I believe are the only UK based supplier), and quite a few of them have become firm favourites of mine to drink in an evening. This is one of them.
I love the rooibos base Ronnefeldt use. This works perfectly with the vanilla and orange peel. It has a creamy, citrusy taste, with all the ingredients mixing perfectly together. I find this, as with their other rooibos teas, an extremely relaxing cuppa.

This was a sample.
The smell makes me think of chocolate truffles. The taste is very much chocolate, but no truffles – unless you add sugar(Only did that with one cup). It’s been … 8 years I think, since I last put plain sugar in any tea(I sometimes use vanilla sugar, but rarely – mainly it’s a way to “fix” a tea that steeped too long). I don’t want to make it a habit. But I think it may be meant to be drunk that way(with milk and sugar, like an English Breakfast) – guess that would be a point in favor of not buying it. Although, it is very chocolatey with just milk, very tasty … so, not sure.

Yeah, the shorter steep worked better, chocolate and spices are more present in the actual taste now. It still doesn’t quite live up to its awesome smell, though.
I think I also used a bit more leaf this time, but I can’t be sure because I don’t remember which teaspoon I used last time. Should have weighed instead …

Preparation
Hm. This smells really, really nice, both the dry leaf and after it’s done steeping. The actual taste doesn’t quite match the promise, though. It’s still nice, Chocolate and spices are there, but much weaker than they seemed in the smell. Since it relies partially on added flavors, and those usually come out fairly quick, it might be that it needs a shorter steep time, so I suppose I’ll try that next time.
