Sipdown! (252)
So I think this is not as great as some of the other RiverTeas I’ve had, but I’m ok with that seeing as I’ve enjoyed so many of their teas.
Thanks Sil for sharing this with me!
ETA: It does taste better as it cools. Maybe this would be better if I just had it iced?
I drank this because I heard it was the last day of winter today and that means it should be the end of winter teas!
It was ok, but didn’t grab me. Maybe it would if I had it 3 months ago.
I ended up leaving work early because no one was at the shop and I didn’t feel like I was being useful AND I had a lot of tea work to do at home, updating my cupboard etc.
This was the first one I made when I walked in the door. It came in the paper container that takes up room so it was an obvious choice for a first sipdown.
Except that it’s herbal. Whoops.
It’s really amazingly tasty though. The banana is perfect. Like Sil said, this is like drinking liquid banana bread, and believe or not, that is a VERY good thing.
I’m so thrilled I was able to try this. I think I’m going to drink the other half later, after it chills in the fridge to see how that tastes!
:D
ETA: It’s good iced as well. I had a few sips, then poured the rest into my daughter’s sip cup.
I’m ALMOST disappointed. Imagine the possibilities if it had been bad iced! We could have called it Sad Banana.
Haha Anna (I may have just typed “Anana”), if this were facebook, I would most definitely have “liked” your comment :P
Yeah, English and Spanish are basically the odd ones out:

It was hard to save some to share……this is like making banana bread and eating it out of the oven….only it takes 3 mins not 55…
This was another sample from Sil.
I don’t have much to say about it. It’s a nice EG, without too much “blergamot” and I liked it.
:) technically that’s one of your teas from our order haha i randomyl divided them up after giving you that one as the extra one
Thank you Sil!
I mean, I think. My cupboard started at 186 and now it’s up at/around 258.
OMG. O.M.G.
Some of that, maybe 15 of it, was tea that I ordered and split with Sil, but the rest was her just being crazy and super generous and I am blown away. So, thank you. :D
Now I chose this one because it was only one cup. It’s a nice black tea, with that tannic something or whatever that I notice in Kenyan teas. It’s enjoyable though. I think there’s a little bit of golden honey in each sip, and I’m enjoying that. It’s comparable to JusTea’s Kenyan black, but not quite so strong.
This gets bitter quickly as it cools.
This tea is ok. It’s not great. It’s strong and other than that I can’t pick much else up.
It’s better with sugar. It sorta needs sugar. Yikes.
It’s a Monday sorta tea.
You know what I did today? Dropped my phone and the bus and used my foot to catch it so it wouldn’t slide everywhere. So, I grinded it into the floor and scratched the crap out of it. It kept turning itself off and wouldn’t boot so I ended up buying a Windows phone for $100 at the BestBuy by my office. That’s my day.
I was interested in trying out the Windows platform just because I love my surface, but I wasn’t planning to get a new phone 1 year after I bought my Blackberry. :| To be fair though, it was failing before I crushed it. The power button and head phone jacks and volume button all stopped working last week.
New phone! Bad tea! :D OHAI monday!
I do! It’s so distracting but I have SO MUCH to set up on it, and contacts to merge and apps to delete or install.
I love gadgets. :D Even though this is an entry-level phone and won’t have half the power of my old one, I don’t care. It’s a new toy!
Oh yeah, you’re going to have so much fun with it at least for the next few weeks or so! love new toys.
Oh, this is a massive HELL NO.
I cold-steeped it overnight and tried a sip this morning and it tasted like whiskey. WHISKEY.
This is not what I’m expecting at 7am on a Monday morning!
(and down the sink it went…)
Umm… thank you VariaTEA? Hahahah (187)
Yep. It totally is a nominee. Such a fail. I totally did that whole body shudder that I do when I quaff hardbar without mix. I don’t do alcohol well and this tea was just too close.
I like the suggestion to bold it. :D
Per your Bio: “So far it seems that I prefer unflavoured black teas, although I still drink a few that are flavoured each day too.”
“It is pointless to resist the DARK side!”
Have you seen this recent discussion thread?

I hadn’t until now! Now, it seems like my preferences vary depending on my mood. Sometimes I want serious business unflavoured tea, and usually in th evenings, I like to drink dessert and flavoured teas. Fandom teas are utterly silly but I enjoy them because they inspire different moods! I try to be open to trying anything too.
But I won’t try that one again.
