1598 Tasting Notes
I’m not usually a breakfast blend sorta girl, preferring to go right for m y Tiger Assam for the roughest of mornings, but I am surrounded by samples that are demanding attention. So here goes!
y eyes are still lidded and heavy because I didn’t sleep enough the past 2 days, but I don’t think I can blame the tea for that. It’s trying it’s best.
It’s really dark and malty, and I think I’m getting bread notes from it as well. It’s an interesting mix! I suspect it’ll taste better once it cools a bit. I might just add a splash of milk to it to help it cool so I can get more wake-up-juice in me STAT! (235)
Thanks Dexter for letting me try this one! I’ve been experimenting with Lupicia teas and this was one I was interested in. (237)
It’s smells lightly like raspberry, but the flavouring is quite light. When I sip it, I taste the black base, then bright raspberry following by a little dark chocolate. It’s really quite muted though. I enjoy it but wish it were stronger, so I’m not sure I’d actually order this, not when I love the banane chocolat so much more. :) But now I know so I’m happy!
Another sample from Sil! (238)
I’m drinking this one while I catch up on my backlogging from earlier. It’s a really nice oolong – it’s darker instead of greener, which is what I like, and it has a bit of caramel sweetness to it that I am a fan of. I could see myself drinking this one fairly frequently.
(239) This was my first cup of the day, and I had it courtesy of Sil! Thanks!
It was delicious, even though I ended up steeping it for 8 minutes while I had a diaper disaster to deal with. It was dark and malty and sweet. I would definitely like to try this again some time!
240! Thanks VariaTEA for this one. To be honest, it wasn’t really for me. Maybe I didn’t steep it right, but I’m not discouraged. I’m sure I’ll like some of the others from this company. I might just have been in a ‘meh’ mood.
I like it though. I like all the Hugo teas I’ve had. Maybe next time I order from them, I’ll try their greens.
Another one from VariaTEA! Thanks! I love Nina’s Paris tea. :D (243)
So I don’t know enough about mangoes, but I’m totally getting apricot from this. Sweet apricot. I am really enjoying this. It’s also creamy too. Yum.
Thanks VariaTEA! (244)
I’ve never heard of this company but I was interested in NEW TEAS! Thanks for sending so many of them.
Huh. I’m not sure if its the base, or if it’s just the flavours, but there is something odd with this one. I’m not sure I’m big on it but… and don’t hate me, I’m not the biggest bestest fan of maple teas. So maybe that’s it. :P
Haha don’t worry about it. I shared all the Victoria teas since it was a new company to me and thought it would be interesting to see others thoughts. I haven’t even tried this yet so I am sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it.
Hahaha I made the mistake of telling the Americans in my residence that my family uses Aunt Jemima syrup instead of real maple syrup and they were all really disturbed at how uncanadian that was.
I grew up with golden syrup or home made fruit sauce on my pancakes. I love pancake syrup, but maple is only for tea. And whipped cream.
omg – gross… gross gross…
and cavo – yeah seems like maple syrup is an ontario thing moreso because it’s cheaper out here… i’ve fully embraced it and used to HATE it… go go aunt jemima :)
