I received this delicious tea from ThainofBuckland. This is a custom Doctor Who themed tea blended by our very own Thain. Romana has always been one of my favorite companions. This appears to be Romana ll, the cute one, rather than Romana l, the elegant one. Romana ll had such great chemistry with the Doctor. (In real life they were actually married for a brief time.)
Oh ya… back to the tea. Lovely berry scent. Mild honeybush and ceylon base. I was worried about the rose hips and hibiscus because they can often ruin a tea for me, but they are mild and blend just right with the berries. I was expecting more sourness with cranberries, rosehips and hibiscus but I am pleased that there are no mouth puckering moments. I did sweeten it with vanilla stevia which may account for the lack of sourness. The berries are a more general berry flavor than exactly a blueberry. The ingredients say ‘forest berries flavor’ and I’m not sure what forest berries are but these are nice. I really enjoyed this and think I would drink it frequently when I want a fruity tea.

I haven’t had this in a long time. It’s as good as I remember. I’m keeping my rating at 80.
We had 12 inches of snow last night so it’s definitely a stay-at-home-and-do-something-useful day. I cleaned out my tea cabinets today. Wow – lots of good stuff in there. Time to join up with “Little Terri”and starting doing those sip downs.
Getting these empty tins dry dry after washing them is a pain in the butt (especially if you are impatient like me. I’m standing there with a hair dryer when my husband comes home and looks at me like I’ve lost my mind. ;-p
Oh, it’s okay. It’s Chicago and we get snow. I swear the weather people make such a big deal about everything ;-p The snow is plowed and everything will be back to normal tomorrow. But thanks for the concern.
p.s. I was born in Maine and my parents had to call a snowplow so they could get mommy and me to the hospital because they had 6 feet of snow on the ground. Now that’s what I call bad weather. :D
I haven’t had a lot of luck finding oolongs that I like but I definitely like this. Very smooth mellow taste. This is slightly astringent at the end of the sip but in a completely good way.
I’ll have to try this from some other places and see if I can’t in at a cheaper price.
I’ve had this for awhile but haven’t needed it since I seem to be very healthy now that I’m not around little first graders and their runny noses.
Not much info on this tea but it is like Gypsy Cold Care. My daughter bought this for me on Etsy last year but it seems to have held up well.
I have a bit of a stuffy nose and decided to give this a shot. Smell is delicious and soothing. I can feel my nose opening up as I get ready for a sip. The tea itself is quite good tasting. I’ve gotten to thinking of most ‘medical’ tisanes aren’t that good tasting. This makes me happy and contented. This tea is good for it’s purpose! Feeling better already!

Another enjoyable dessert tea from David’s. Somewhat similar to some of their others but definitely distinctively red velvet. I agree that it is sweet but since I like sweet dessert teas, it works for me.
I had not read the tasting notes or anything and the package did not say what was in it, so… it was a complete surprise when I opened it up and smelled the bergamot. I love bergamot and the roses were a nice addition. This was a nice cuppa but I think I like some of the other EG’s a bit more. My favorite is #69 from TeaGschwender. (I have to look up the spelling EVERY time I want to write it!!)

I am really enjoying my cup of this tea! It has an interesting depth of flavor with the pu’erh and the yerba mate with the chai being light but flavorful.
I’m not really sure why it is considered a chai since it doesn’t have the spice I would expect. It has long pepper and cardamom but no cinnamon, cloves, etc. Even though it’s not necessarily a chai it is lovely.
The cocoa, vanilla and coconut blend nicely. And I love almost any yerba mate so this makes a wonderful, invigorating cuppa.

This is a yummy tea and I see that I gave it a 95 last time I drank it. I would rate it just a bit lower today but it’s probably me. I’ve got a bit of an upset stomach and should have made a mint tea but this one was just calling to me. I enjoyed it but… I should have waited for another day. Luckily I have enough for a lovely cup or three on another day.

There must have been a lot of this in the Overboard TTB. It seems there a bunch of notes so everybody must be sampling it. :D
I’ve heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different out come. Well, call me insane be cause I keep trying formosa oolongs and I keep getting the same result. Why do I keep trying them? Well, I thought that with fig added it would be better but I couldn’t taste the fig. :( The tea isn’t bad it just isn’t for me.
The taste is just a bit too floral and perfume-y.
And again… Where’s the fig!
Thank you NayLynn and Brandon! This is a yummy tea that fits well in the group of teas that I have been gulping down with total abandon. I REALLY need some that aren’t too high on the caffeine but have the vanilla and chocolate I love.
I have to agree that I don’t get the connection with the name but it really doesn’t matter. A nice tea. I have enough for another 2 cup pot… so yea!
Thanks for the review. I like how this blend turned out as well. It does have a vanilla base as well, so I think it cuts the fruit flavor well.
I agree. Thanks again!
