2987 Tasting Notes
I don’t taste any smoke like others have tasted. I get a typical smooth malty but slightly brisk black tea flavour. I had this with a touch of vanilla soy milk and that may have drowned out subtle notes.
Flavors: Malt, Tannin
Preparation
This tea is surprisingly solid. Sweet, sort of like strawberry flavoured candy, a nice black base, a bit creamy and a thick mouthfeel. I had this with vanilla soy milk and it was almost like strawberry milk but with a great black tea flavour in it.
Flavors: Berries, Strawberry, Thick
I can taste the green tea and licorice root, but not a lot of ginger. The licorice root is sickly sweet and icky. Why can’t a tea called ginger green taste like green tea + ginger?
Flavors: Green, Licorice, Metallic, Sweet
Preparation
I’ve been drinking this a lot lately because I keep forgetting to wash my steepers and I’m out of paper teabags.
This blend is nostalgic because I have a few relitives that used to serve tea when we went to their house for dinner/occasions. I like this by itself but even more with a splash of vanilla soy milk. It can be resteeped 2-3 times and doesn’t oversteep if you leave the teabag in. I like that it is flexible and fool-proof. It is also caffeine free, contains no hibiscus, and gets quite rich and desserty when you add milk, making for a great morning latte when you want something sweet and decadent.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Nutty, Spicy, Sweet
I thought this would be overly tart, but I actually found it had a good balance of cinnamon, dried fig and plum flavour, and fruity tartness. The spicy combination is nice, very warm and comforting. I wish the ginger was spicier, but overall it is a nice flavourful winter blend.
