2987 Tasting Notes
I tried this one at a friend’s house not long ago. It is similar to pumpkin cheesecake but without the rooibos and smoke flavour. There is a lot of pumpkin flavour, some sweetness (brown sugar), some pie crust (graham cracker?), and some fruity/cinnamon flavour. I enjoyed it, but wonder why I didn’t purchase it when it was available. Normally I’m all over herbal seasonal teas.
Flavors: Carrot, Cinnamon, Fruity, Pumpkin, Spices
Preparation
I’ve been wanting ot try this for a while, so I was thrilled to find Teavivre was offering it during the pre-black friday sale. I picked up a sample of it and am very excited to try this tea today.
Day 16 of the homemade advent calendar. Today’s theme: teas I have not reviewed before
This doesn’t taste like almond, but it isn’t strictly orchid either. I guess I can see the almond association, but it is much more floral than anything else. It reminds me of orchid and pansy. The tea itself will oversteep and is prone to bitterness. It ended up being too bitter for me so I added soy milk and am now enjoying it much more that way. I normally drink oolongs plain but maybe next time I will do a very short steep with less water. I did 2 tsp leaf in 550 mL mug and at 4 minutes I didn’t taste much so I steeped it longer. Gong fu is the way to go for this one.
Flavors: Floral, Orchid
Not only am I the first to review this tea, but this is the first time I’m drinking it!
Day 13 of the 2018 homemade advent calender has the theme of teas from 52teas. I thought it seemed appropriate to open and try a new tea since I finished up \eg cupcake this morning.
I found this to have a lightly floral but falvourful white base. Delicate, fruity, and floral in the aftertaste. Most of what I taste is citrus/orange rind, which I could have done without but it isn’t a bad thing. I would have been happier to get more white wine/Champagne flavour or something resembling alcohol. It might be that this white tea is now many months old, however I just opened the bag today. I will have to report back on that one as I get to the bottom of the bag. At the moment, it reminds me a lot of When Doves Cry with the orange and floral notes.
Flavors: Citrus, Floral, Orange Zest, Smooth, Tannic
Day 11 of the homemade advent calender: today’s theme is teas from David’s Tea
I like this tea for its dried fruit + caramel flavours, but once thing that I think makes it interesting is the scent of coconut and the buttery finish.
Flavors: Apple, Butter, Caramel, Coconut, Dried Fruit, Nutty, Popcorn, Toasty
Day 12 of the homemade advent calendar: today’s theme is Chinese herbals
At first I find this herbal kind of plain with notes of vegetables broth, but once you steep it a bit longer it really tastes long a puerh tea. Vegetal broth notes, toasty flavours, hints of potato, but mostly it reminds me of a fermented tea flavour. It is related to tea, so I’m not surprised it tastes so similar.
Flavors: Earth, Toasty, Vegetable Broth
Day 12 of the homemade advent calendar: today’s theme is Chinese herbals
I love this tea so much. Toasty, some minerals similar to a roasted oolong but no bitterness, just smooth toasty oolong flavour.
Flavors: Smooth, Toasty

This is a sipdown. I enjoy interesting EG blends and so I’ve been picking this as my go-to EG lately. The malty base is flavourful, but the bergamot and orange citrus is nice. I don’t taste a lot of icing or cake flavour, but some slight creamy flavour is there.
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Malt, Smooth
