drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA

Super tasty, much like movie night. I’m all into comforting teas today.
I had this with a dash of vanilla soy milk. Very sweet, nutty, some notes of caramel and praline, candied walnut. Just so good.

Flavors: Brown Sugar, Caramel, Nutty, Sweet, Toffee, Walnut

Super tasty and very comforting.

Toasted coconut and the sweetness of caramel corn. Some fruity notes (dried apple and figs), but the popcorn flavour is very light.

I’m not sure what to think of this EG. I get weird hints of smoke and minerals. The citrus/bergamot is nice, but I find the base lacks sweetness and is drying. This makes the cup a bit of a challenge to drink plain (I ended up adding a touch of sugar to mine).

drank Strawberry & Vanilla by Lupicia
2987 tasting notes

Another belated tasting note.

I got a whole bunch of Lupicia’s teas before they sold out of everything and this one I decided t only get the 10 teabags so I don’t have 25+ cups worth in a tin taking up precious space. I’ve had this twice, one with soy milk and once plain. Both were good. The vanilla/strawberry combo is something I hadn’t considered before but wow is it ever stellar. The rose is very gentle and I found in most sips it was barely present. The vanilla was sweet and creamy, the strawberry was very sweet and natural tasting. It reminded me of a milkshake. I’m not crazy about the green base (a bit too vegetal and astringent), I think a herbal base would have been much better.

Flavors: Cream, Fruity, Strawberry, Sweet, Thick, Vanilla

YES a herbal base for this one would have been amazing…

drank Jasmine Blossom by Stash Tea
2987 tasting notes

I can’t remember where I got this, but I wanted to drink something caffeinated yesterday and figured this counts as a sipdown.

The base is nice, lightly vegetal and gets bitter if brewed hot (I didn’t enjoy it as much hot but once it cooled I watered it down and that was much better). The jasmine is very strong and natural. There isn’t much here other than a tippy green tea and jasmine floral scent, but that’s exactly what you expect from a tea called jasmine blossom.

Flavors: Floral, Jasmine, Vegetal

Preparation
5 min, 30 sec

drank Vanilla Plantation by Silk Road
2987 tasting notes

I’m enjoying this cup brewed strong with a splash of unsweetened vanilla Ripple (plant-based) milk. Vanilla ripple tastes like a milkshake, so together with a tea called “Vanilla Plantation” you can imagine how great this is.

Thick, sweet, lots of vanilla and creaminess. Some malt from the black tea base but also a touch of spiciness. A bit of tannicity in the base.

Flavors: Creamy, Malt, Sweet, Tannic, Thick, Vanilla

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
