2987 Tasting Notes
You can either steep it for a short time and get watery weak tea or brew longer and get astringent (and still weak) tea. I’ve had two pots of this so far, and there wasn’t a lot of flavour in either. It could have been this batch though.
Steeps to a slight tan colour, is slightly woody but overall is quite shallow. Smells like a strong oolong, however mine did not taste as good as it smelled.
Flavors: Astringent
Preparation
So I’m drinking this tea right now because as soon as I opened the storage tin I was hit by the smell of sweet jasmine blossoms, and I felt compelled to make it.
It steeps very light yellow, but it smells very floral and fresh when it is ready. I really enjoy having a tea that doesn’t steep bitter or astringent like so many do. The white tea taste is very mild, but I think it goes really well with the delicate jasmine. The floral taste is strong, but it isn’t overpowering. I always expect white and green teas to be grassy or herbaceous, but this tea isn’t like that at all.
BONUS: This tea re-steeps very well. I usually go for 3-4 steeps before I get bored of one flavour of tea, but you could do more if you wanted to.
I brewed this cup hot, which I recommend for others. It isn’t strong enough to be an iced tea and I think the white tea taste might get lost after it cools. I wouldn’t recommend adding sweetener or milk, but if you do, consider adding half the amount you usually do.
Flavors: Floral, Jasmine, Sweet
Preparation
You can smell the fresh apricots through the packaging. The tea smells divine before and during steeping. It is beautifully sweet, bright, and delicately fruity. The white tea gives it a nice round taste. It steeps a light yellow colour, but you can really taste all the different flavours. I also really like the ingredients are organic and ethically sourced.
Flavors: Apricot, Fruity, Grass, Stonefruit, Sweet, Tannic
Preparation
Very tart, but the raspberry flavour was strong (not that you could taste it very well under the sourness). It makes an ok iced tea if you add sweetener and don’t let it sit too long.
Flavors: Berries, Berry, Hibiscus, Raspberry, Sour, Tart
Preparation
There is a nice spicy sweetness to it, which makes for a nice hot tea of a wintry day. My only critique is that it is too minty for me, which overpowered the other flavours. This tea is sweet enough by itself that it doesn’t need any honey. It is good by itself but makes an especially wonderful steamed milk latte.
Flavors: Menthol, Mint, Peppermint, Spicy, Sweet
Preparation
The blueberry one is the only one I find drinkable. The others I used up by dunking the tea bag for 10 seconds or so to brew some iced tea. These tisanes are only good for people who enjoy fruity acidic teas. Personally, I find them too sour, but others might like them. This sampler would be worth trying if you know you enjoy this sort of tisane.
