Another offering from the Tearunners box for January. I love oolongs overall but I’ve really started to prefer more lightly oxidized varietal. This is more heavily oxidized, so I was dubious about whether or not I would enjoy it. This is also from Nepal, and I don’t think I’ve ever tried a Nepalese oolong before.
This smells quite interesting- very savory, with some jammy fruit notes.
The first thing I notice is the drying effect I’m experiencing with each sip. There’s a bit of astringency, which is distracting from the actual flavor. There are some floral notes, and a slight jammy flavor. It’s actually reminding me of a black Assam. Not something I’d gravitate back to.

Hello! I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend and 4 cats [+however many foster cats I have at the moment]. I’m also obsessed with all things spooky.

I became obsessed with the world of tea through DavidsTea years ago. I love to try new brands, so I’m constantly on the look out for new-to-me companies.
