151 Tasting Notes
Well… I love all things pumpkin.. and this was the highlight of my day.. my friend who just got back from the states bought me some as a surprise… I see what teavana tried to do here… the idea of pumpkin creme brulee is wonderful…. but its the spice that got me…. i think the fact that they put ginger, allspice cloves and nutmeg, was overkill. It made the spiciness almost taste fake… besides that part though, I really do like this tea… which is why I am giving it a high rating.. because I appreciate what was attempted.. and it still makes a half decent mug!
Preparation
I made a pot of this for my friend and I. He loved it. I did not… I didn’t think I would because i don’t love chocolate as a food, and I don’t really love it as a tea either.. oh well such is life.. he gained the rest of this from me :)
Preparation
i didn’t love this tea, BUT, it is reminiscent of the quality that davids used to be… it wasn’t doused with a million ingridents and flavours combatting one another.. it was actually just a couple of simple ingridents complimenting one another.. and for that i have to give this tea kudos.
Strange, I think this batch was stale, but it kind of tasted like what coconut grove tastes like… not a fan.
I’m not gonna lie.. I haven’t been feeling david’s lately… with all the mango teas for spring and summer that i couldn’t have, and some less than stellar blends that I could have, and the major disappearances of some of my favorites! … I have liked some of the new teas, but haven’t really LOVED them (not enough that i’ll really, really, miss them when they disappear)…. but THIS! on first smell, i thought it was going to be really fake currant tasting, and gross.. but on first sip.. i fell in love! .. the currant flavour is really strong, and true to currant taste.. and it changes into a creamy vanillaish taste… so simple, so beautiful :) i had it hot.. i’m gonna try it iced tommorow.
Preparation
I am normally very picky about my ginger blends. I find there is a very fine line between being delicious, and being obnoxious… delicious- davids strawberry ginger, tealish ginger sparkle.. obnoxious, sweet ginger heat from davids…. this one is more on the delicious side. The creaminess of the coconut tames the ginger.. and the red rooibos gives it a nice smooth finish.. i quite enjoyed it… i didn`t get much of the apple, or cardamom notes on this steep though!
Preparation
THIS! smells so good, and brews up even better! it reminds me of oats and berries but so much better.. definitely a nice switch from regular genmaicha :)
