drank Lemon Ginger Tea by Stash Tea

My husband had to pick our eldest up from school because she’s not feeling well, and he brought this home to help soothe all the sore throats in this house. I do love tea bags when I’m not feeling well just for ease of use, so I was happy to see this box.

This tea is exactly what it says it is, lemon and ginger. The lemon is the first thing you taste, and it does have a lot of tartness. I ended up adding a teaspoon of honey to each cup to sweeten things up a bit. The ginger comes next and seems to settle in the back of the throat. It is soothing even though there’s a little bit of heat to it. With the added honey this is a nice cup for a sore throat and to chase the chills away.

This was nice. I can see myself keeping this with the other bagged teas I keep around for sick days.

Indigobloom

Honey is great for sore throats too! two birds with one stone :P

Woke up with a sore throat and feeling rather achey all over. Good times. I’m sipping on this hoping it will help my throat a bit. The blueberry is really strong today. I don’t remember it being this strong in previous cups. Not that I’m complaining. In fact, I’m really liking it.

I’m close to the bottom of my tin of this, and I wasn’t planning on restocking it until summer. Now I’m thinking it might be worth it to keep some on hand.

JustJames

no achey. tell it ‘no!’. =0(

Ellyn

feel better!

Veronica

Thanks. It looks like my whole family got whammied at once, so we’re all bundled up under covers resting and drinking tea.

Tea of the night. I just realized this is my third green tea today which is almost unheard of for me. I’ve enjoyed each one, so maybe I’m finally starting to warm up to green teas.

This tea smells sweetly floral. The tea has a brothy feel, but the taste is a bit cleaner with light hints of cherry and rose. The rose comes to the foreground as the tea cools, and almost all of the cherry is lost. That’s kind of a bummer because it’s a good cherry flavor. Nothing artificial or gummy tasting. I’m picking up some grassier notes from the tea which is really nice with the floral flavor. Wow. Good stuff.

All in all a lovely cup. I know I enjoyed cold brewing it during the summer, but this is much better hot than I remember. I’m glad I revisited it.

This is some yummy stuff. Kind of like a liquefied candy cane with a nice splash of vanilla thrown in. I always enjoy having it in my house during the winter months.

VariaTEA

I am definitely happy I sent my dad on a hunt for this. I also asked for a bunch of the other holiday blends. In fact I think I asked for all of them with the exception of Sugar Plum.

gmathis

I think Sugar Plum is the only one I haven’t tried.

VariaTEA

How did you find the others? Are they worth it?

Veronica

I like Sugar Cookie and I think Nutcracker is okay. Sugar Plum is my least favorite out of the holiday blends. They all have a sweetness to them, but Sugar Plum is over the top sweet. And I’m a girl who has no problem putting sugar in her tea!

VariaTEA, I’d be happy to send some to you as part of our swap.Just let me know.

VariaTEA

haha good thing I did not ask for that one then. Thank you for the offer but I have already asked my dad to pick me up some. As soon as my many tea orders arrive at his apartment, he will ship everything to me :)

K S

All this talk about Candy Cane Lane, you know I have to brew up another cup.

Veronica

K S, you’re the reason I went out and bought a box! Your statement about it being liquid crack stuck in my brain until I had to have some. :)

tigress_al

I have been looking for this in my grocery stores and haven’t found it yet! I need to have this every winter

VariaTEA

Target sells them I believe.

TeaLady441

I’ll have to try Target too! I’ve been looking everywhere for these!

yyz

So far I’ve only seen them at bulk barn, near me.

K S

Found this and Sugar Cookie at Target. I never shop Target but made a special trip to get my fix. Veronica, sorry and your welcome at the same time ;)

yyz

Great! Maybe they will have some here. So far target here has been severely dissapointing. They basically spent a fortune on renovation and reconstruction and then stockedbthe stores in such away that they may as well be the same store they replaced. Nothing to go out of your way for.

I woke up this morning craving Genmaicha. I looked and looked in my pantry for my Ganmaicha from Zen Tea, but it’s nowhere to be found. After a moment of angst I remembered I had this lovely sitting on a shelf. Crisis averted. Lots of toasty rice and marshmallow sweetness. Yum.

So last night my daughter was finishing up a project on mythology for her Latin class when she realized she’d misread the directions and did a large part of the project incorrectly. Normally this is the sort of thing that sends me over the edge, but I had to read the directions multiple times before I understood what the teacher was asking for, so I couldn’t be mad at my daughter. After I got her out of panic mode she and I worked on the project until 2am. The poor kid (and her mom) had to wake up at six this morning, so I knew we needed a good strong tea.

Oh, this tea. It’s such a cup full of malty deliciousness. It has rich crusty notes but also something that just hints at cocoa. The thickness of it reminds me of a good French roast, but this has none of the bitterness. Add some sugar and milk and it is the perfect builder’s tea. And now that I have my daughter and the project from hell on their way to school I can enjoy this cup for a few minutes until it’s time to get my son up and moving. Thank heaven (or Jupiter or Juno or Ceres) for tea!

K S

I don’t know who should be commended more. Your daughter for caring enough to get it right or you for helping until 2am.

Veronica

Oh, thanks! I remember my parents helping me when I was a kid, so now I figure it’s my turn. :) My daughter is the epitome of perfectionist, so it’s not in her to do a bad job on anything that receives a grade (the state of her room is another story).

I was reading Rosehip’s review of this tea and decided it was exactly what I was in the mood for. Today the almond seems a bit stronger than usual, but I’m fine with that. It works well with the slight bready flavor of the tea. Add the tartness of the cranberry and I have the perfect cup to sip on while I put the fall decorations away and get ready to decorate for Christmas (Yay!).

Rosehips

Glad it hit the spot today!

Fjellrev

I think this one’s underrated. :)

Veronica

Yeah, I consider this one of those “hidden jewel” teas. It’s really good but doesn’t get talked about a whole lot.

Rosehips

Agree with Incendiare compleatly. Yum.

My daughter had this last night, so I decided to resteep the leaves this morning. It’s a really fruity blend between the blueberry and the oolong, but the nutmeg gives it enough warmth that it still feels like a cozy winter tea. Not a bad cup to wake up to!

Backlogging.

I had this tea last night when I was convincing myself that I do not need to buy another mint tea. And while this one is great it’s a softer mint tea. The spearmint and marshmallow are fully present but very mellow. This is the mint tea I’ll turn to when I need to clam down and relax or just sit and enjoy. I do love it.

I still need a morning mint tea with enough kick to get me out the door on a cold day, so it looks like I’ll be picking up a Moroccan Mint after all.

I’ve never been a big fan of pu’erh, but it works amazingly well with the chocolate/rose flavor combination. Both the tea and the chocolate are dark and thick, but the rose flavor lightens everything and adds a wonderful high note to the tea. I can see myself ordering this the next time I place an order with Design a Tea. Really, really nice.
