1118 Tasting Notes
I snagged this out of one of the ttbs I participate in, and, while I can’t remember which box this came from, I want to tell the sender thank you. This is yummy. It almost has a blueberry muffin flavor to it, and it’s creamy even without adding milk. Rooibos blends are very hit or miss with me. This one is a hit!
Preparation
I ordered more of this yesterday, so I thought I’d use the very last of my current stash in order to make room for the 100g that’s on the way. Merry Christmas to me! :)
This tea continues to be one of my favorites and easily my favorite Earl Grey. I love the balance between the bergamot and the vanilla, and I love the creamy feel of the tea itself. Good stuff.
Preparation
If this tea doesn’t wake you up in the morning then you need to check your pulse. It’s thick and heavy with lots of malt-like notes along with leather, fruit, spice, and tobacco. It keeps from being too dark and overwhelming by the lighter/sweeter notes being well balanced against the deeper flavors. The result is an outstanding tea that’s just perfect for these colder shorter days.
When I bought this I was concerned about getting (yet another) 4.4oz of tea, but now I’m so glad I did. This is exactly what I want in my cup at this time of year.
Preparation
My mom bought me a sample box of Bigelow herbals when I visited my family back in May, and for the most part it’s sat untouched since then. I’m trying to drink more herbals at night, so I thought I’d give this one a try.
This is pretty nice. The orange flavor is sweet and fruity, and the cinnamon is strong, but it doesn’t overwhelm the tea. I’ll happily use the remainder of these tea bags.
I haven’t had this tea in a while, and I’m wondering why because it’s dang delicious. The vanilla and caramel flavors are comforting… like coming home to a clean house and a cozy fire. This is still one of the only decaf blacks that I enjoy. There’s no strange chemical aftertaste that is often found in decaf teas.
Just good black tea… and vanilla… and caramel… yum.
Ok, this is delicious. It actually taste like an almond sugar cookie. I added sugar and milk, and I have to say it’s one of the tastier dessert teas I’ve had in quite a while.
Yum.
Preparation
I bought this at the Coffee and Tea Festival with the idea of it being one of the teas at my holiday party. I set it aside, but I wanted to drink Christmas-y type teas today, so I brewed a cup.
I should say that I’ve never had fig pudding. I have no idea what it taste like. This tea, however, taste like cherry cream. I do get more of a fig note every now and then, but mostly I get fruity cherry and sweet cream. It’s not what I was expecting, but it is really good!
Preparation
Tea of the morning. I’m not moving very fast today, and I’m more than happy to sit here reading tasting notes while sipping on this lovely. The beginning of the sip is sweet and malty with the sweetness having a nice fruitiness to it. I also taste a deep cocoa note as well as honey. The smokey flavor comes at the end of the sip. So good and a really nice way to enjoy a Friday morning.
Preparation
Tea of the morning. This is always such a treat. The combination of flavors is so well done and just plain yummy! It’s lightly sweet and smooth at the beginning with notes of honey, bread, and creamy marshmallow while the dark chocolate and pine flavors linger at the end of the sip. Seriously tasty stuff.
How did you brew it to get those flavors to come through (especially the marshmallow!)? Mine tasted like a smokey, woodsy mess, lol.
I should have said pine smoke. :) Little bit of smoke right at the end, but it has a definite pine flavor.
Nightshifter – Do you have the old version of this tea or the new one? I’m drinking the old version, and a longer steep time really helps meld all the flavors together. I haven’t tried the new version yet, so I don’t know anything about it.
