TastyBrew sent me a sample of this in a surprise package! Thanks, TastyBrew! I was a little worried because there have been mixed reviews on this reblend, but it was delicious! It’s a very bold tea, with blueberry and pastry flavor. Kind of like the bold cousin of blueberry crumble. I definitely still love blueberry crumble, but when I want a stronger black tea, this is perfect. This was exactly what I needed to start my day today! Btw, it resteeps well. I hope Frank reblends another batch, because I’m sure to pick some up!
Now THIS is a good milk oolong! TastyBrew sent this to me in the surprise package. Thanks, TastyBrew!! This was a perfect choice for me as I’ve been thinking about getting this tea for a long time, but wasn’t sure I wanted to get stuck with 2 oz. if I didn’t like it. (They don’t sell a smaller size).
This tea has all the milky, buttery flavor that I was expecting from a milk oolong, and a nice sweet finish! I do have a sweet tooth, ya know!
Getting this sample from TastyBrew was also perfect timing, as I was already planning on ordering a large amount of blueberry crumble with the latest promotion, so I added this one to the list! Yay!!
Nice! I’m glad you like it. Doesn’t it just taste like melted butter? I did it gong fu style and it stayed buttery for about 6 or 7 steeps before turning a little more vegetal. Butter then buttered vegetables. Yum!
Yum! I need to do it gong fu style! I always feel like I don’t have time for gong fu though…I guess it’s time to make time for tea!
I thought that at first too, but it doesn’t take any time at all since you barely steep the leaves. I like doing it because of the instant gratification! And I can actually taste the different flavors that my unsophisticated palate can’t discern when I drink tea western style.
Blueberry Crumble is really that good? I just got this one in but won’t try it until I finish off a couple other teas. Glad you like it!
TastyBrew sent me a surprise package! She’s so nice!! This was one of the teas she included. Thanks, TastyBrew!! Btw, she has adorable labels for her tea packaging!!
This was one tea I thought about picking up, but wasn’t having the best luck with their chocolate flavoring, so didn’t. It actually is pretty good. Much better than love in a cup or dubbele chocolade IMO. I’m not in love with it, but enjoyed it. The chocolate was a lot more to my liking :)
Yeah, I like the chocolate in this one. Very roasty. I bought a small bag of this cause I crave that roasty malt flavor every so often.
This was not as good today, but I can’t really fault the tea. It was really just me having a very lame tea day. I was so busy at work, that I only managed to have two cups of tea. This one, I steeped while talking with a coworker, so who knows how long it steeped for. On top of that, I started drinking it while continuing to talk, so it wouldn’t get cold, but I didn’t get the chance to add any sugar. So sad. I did, however, buy more tea on my lunch break! And TastyBrew sent me an awesome surprise in the mail! So, not a bad tea day after all!
Had the strange urge to drink one of my bagged teas this morning, so I had this. Meh. I really think it’s true that once you drink better tea, you can never go back. Now what am I supposed to do with my bagged teas?
I just saw that Stacy already ran out of her new caramel vanilla assam and it wasn’t even online yet!!!!! Nooooo!! I want some so bad! Stacy – when will you have your next batch? Please save some for me!!!!
On THIS tea….OMG! I’m running out! And I want to bring some to my mom this weekend so she can taste how amazing it is!!! I had some this afternoon and almost lost a leaf on the floor. 5-second rule! C’mon, I couldn’t waste that!! This tea makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over. I’m not sure if there is another one that does that to me. I really need to make a spreadsheet now so I can keep track of my favorites! This tea will be included in my next order….that will hopefully also include caramel vanilla assam!!!
She said it would be back later this week. :-)
I’m trying the maple pecan oolong tonight. Sounds so good. 5 second rule no probelm, afterall, you’re soaking them in hot water, that’ll kill any germs, right?
ACK! I have been checking on the website to see when it would be available! I guess I should have contacted Stacy directly!
I agree, this one’s delicious. :) So disappointed that my last three cups worth of leaves were ruined. Someone used cleaner WAY too close to the pouch, so it absorbed this weird sour flavor. DX; I didn’t die, so obviously it wasn’t poisoned, but it sure poisoned the nice flavor D:
And Caramel Vanilla Assam? I’m so very intrigued! Wish I knew about it sooner so I could’ve requested it too D:
TastyBrew – can’t wait to hear what you think of the maple pecan oolong!
Chizakura – that must’ve been some strong cleaner! Bummer!
Another sample from Bluebird! So, this tea smells heavenly! Very much a fruity cocoa smell. I didn’t see any hearts in my sample…bummer :( This is another Bluebird tea that I think is better without milk. Strange, since I usually take my black teas with milk. The cocoa note is really nice!!! It is also fruity, but I couldn’t really discern which fruit. There’s a little floral note too. Overall, it was good, but not my favorite combination. I think people who like fruity chocolate teas will really like it though.
Wow, first reviewer! So much pressure!! This tea smells amazing! Like a combination of caramel apple and apple pie. yum! The taste, however, was a little too subtle for me. Even though they say you can have it with milk, I think milk kinda ruins it. I added milk to the first steep, and the taste was definitely not as strong as the smell. Tasted okay though, but I wanted more oomph! So, for the second steep, I didn’t add milk, and I think that was better. I definitely get a sweet apple flavor. Not sure if this was a winner for me, but that’s coming from someone who’s not all that into apple teas. Oh, for those wondering about the smokiness, I didn’t really get a smoky flavor, or at least it was very subtle.
Ooh glad to hear this! :) I had very excitedly snapped up two pouches, but was beginning to worry about what people were saying about his most recent blends/re-blends. Hopefully my pouches will be fine too when they get here! :D
Luckily, I love the reblend as much as I loved a much earlier batch, so you never know!
