Thanks so much for the sample, Dustin!

So. Orange and vanilla? Mostly I got rose and orange flower! Whoa! I did really like it though. It had that “Fauchon” flavour, in that it’s quite similar in base to the other teas I have.

Really sweet and desserty. Yum! If I saw it, I would probably get some. That being said, I do like Naissance and Un Soir de France a bit better. :)

drank Caramel Apple by Butiki Teas
2291 tasting notes

In a travel mug today! It was light and fruity and oolongy. I didn’t really get caramel or apple out of it, but I don’t care because I’m quite liking how this oolong base works in a steel mug!

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

I think I like this one more than the Raspberry Balsamico, but I’m having them blended again. 1 tbsp each tea in my big teapot (eee!), steeped 4 minutes. I added 1 tsp honey.

Whatever I don’t drink tonight will go in the fridge for tomorrow!

This is nice and limey. Some raspberry. Some sweetish taste that could be the balsamic. The blend is good, but the lime on its own is better. Too bad it’s a heavier, and thus more expensive, tea. If it’s even available anymore…

OMGsrsly

Whoops, I drank the whole pot.

drank Phoenix Pearl by Zen Tea
2291 tasting notes

I threw 1/4 tsp of these into my 14 oz “timolino” and sipped on it all day at work.

I still like this tea, especially for the versatility. Being able to let it steep all day without any funky flavours is awesome!

Dexter

This one is awesome :))

drank Tamarind Gui Fei by Butiki Teas
2291 tasting notes

Oh, this is SO good today! I made it this morning, so it’s just a little warmer than body temperature now.

Nice and fruity, the oolong is perfect and thick and smooth.

YUM.

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML
Dexter

Hmmmmm – I like tamarind in black tea – haven’t thought about it it oolong – will have to remember this next time I make tamarind chutney…

OMGsrsly

Did you get a sample of this? If not, I’ll put the bit I have left aside for you.

Dexter

No please don’t – please enjoy it or share it with someone who will appreciate it….

Dexter

I actually mix tamarind into iced tea – it’s amazing, I just haven’t tried it with oolong – will have to do that someday

OMGsrsly

I only have 1 tsp left or so. I bought it for a friend and most of it went to her! I’ll definitely enjoy it. It worked well in the travel mug.

drank Banane Chocolat by Lupicia
2291 tasting notes

A sample from Dustin! Thank you. :)

This smells like sweet banana candy. There’s weirdly not much chocolate in there as well. I steeped a bit short and cool, because I was making an oolong at the same time. Unfortunately, the tea is really thin. I like the flavour, it’s nice that the banana is stronger than the chocolate. But the texture just isn’t doing it for me.

Are all these puerhs and oolongs ruining me for regular black tea? GASP. I hope not.

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 2 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML
Sil

hahahaha

Fjellrev

Banana candy oddly sounds really good to me even though I’m sure this must taste artificial haha.

OMGsrsly

I actually quite liked the banana flavour. It was sweet and fresh.

OMGsrsly

I think I’d prefer a banana oolong, though. Like melon oolong. :D The texture of the oolong is just… IDK, I think it would go better with the banana flavour they use.

Fjellrev

I never tried David’s rendition but I like the idea of banana in oolong too!

OMGsrsly

David’s rendition was Before My Time. :)

rosebudmelissa

Is there a banana oolong out there? That does sound good. For that matter, are there many banana flavored teas?

drank Peach Tranquility by Teavana

I do like this, but it’s better way overleafed with a little honey added. I’m having this after I realized I forgot dinner, and made bacon and eggs. :D

It’s a good combo, actually.

And this tea is a perfect before bed tea because of the chamomile.

Yum.

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 4 min, 0 sec 6 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

Grandpa style, only I haven’t refilled my thermos at all.

I put 4 tiny nuggets in the bottom of my not-a-timolino this morning, and added boiling water. I’ve been sipping randomly all day, and it’s been SO good! Really mild and soothing. A little foresty but not much. IDK, I just really like this tea this way.

Preparation
Boiling 12 OZ / 354 ML
Dexter

That’s awesome – I haven’t really explored grandpa style…

OMGsrsly

It’s my lazy way of having lots of tea OR preparing tea when I know I won’t get to it for a long while but I want it to be tasty and not flat like it can sometimes get in a thermos. Wee bit of leaf, water, let it go. Wee bit of leaf. I’ve started using 4-5 oolong balls, so maybe 1/4 tsp? I haven’t tried it with Indian teas, but it works with puerh (even stuff that’s mostly steeped out), rolled oolong, and Zen Tea’s Phoenix Pearl really well.

DeliriumsFrogs

I haven’t explored that style, either. Sounds so interesting (and convenient, and yummy, and just all around great. :) )

I cleaned my skinny mesh tea strainer (the one that fits into the top of my Contigo mugs) and made a mug of this for work today!

OMG, I forgot how good this is. SO GOOD. Seriously. I’m so glad I have another 50g bag in the cupboard, because delicious tea is delicious.

drank Warm Crepe by Bayswater Tea Co.
2291 tasting notes

Yum! I’m missing some of the bigger pieces in this last serving of tea, but that’s OK. It’s still delicious.

Cinnamon pancakes, seriously. So good!

With a splash of milk (small splash, I’m trying to reduce dairy…).

187 (I think.)

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 5 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML
Plunkybug

Oooh, I really want to try this now! Looks so good. And it’s honeybush, so caffeine free! :)

Sil

oooooh!!!

ohfancythat

you awesomely sent me some of this and i’m excited to try it!! :)

OMGsrsly

Sil, there might be some in your pile, but I don’t actually remember. And now it’s gone.

Whatshesaid, it’s so tasty! I have a hard time with honeybush but this one doesn’t go sour on me.

Sil

omg – i anticipate a bit of a shopping spree when i’m down in a couple months… hopefully i’ll have tried a few more so i know what i MUST HAVE

OMGsrsly

Haha. I should send you some stuff.

Oh, I got the O5 product list. Holy moly! Those puer are expensive. O.o

Dexter

OMGsrsly – do you have that product list in a format that you could email to me. :))))))

OMGsrsly

Of course, Dex! Message me your email address somewhere and I’ll forward it to you.

Dexter

Thank you – sent you a FB message….
