688 Tasting Notes
Picked this up from the store earlier in the year. Since it nearly time for Autumn, decided to have this for my afternoon cup. It smells nicely malty, and a bit more fruity when I brewed it. The flavour is a sweet malt, with some red and dark fruit notes.
Flavors: Fruity, Malt, Red Fruits
Why don’t they use they name ‘creme brulee’? It’s an actual dessert. ‘Brulee’ just means burnt. This is another tea I had at the store. There are sooo many scents/ flavours going on here. First, there are the usual pumpkin spices. Then there is the creamy white chocolate. And a cocoa flavour. Didn’t really notice any pumpkin. Thankfully, the chicory decided to hide in the sample I tried. It’s okay, but trying too hard.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon, Cloves, Cocoa, Cream, Nutmeg, Spices, White Chocolate
Had this at the store today. It smells like apple and spices, mostly. Then there is the hibiscus, which comes out strongly in the flavour. Should be called hibiscus cider instead. There is a cinnamon scent/ flavour as well. With some cloves.
Overall too sweet, and too much hibiscus.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Hibiscus
‘Tea, Earl Grey, hot!’
I’ve been having a lot of EG lately, I blame a certain Starship Captain. My latest sample from the local shop. I’ve had lavender EG, and rose EG, but not in the same cup. Smells nicely like lavender with some rose. The rosemary scent comes out better when brewed. There is a mostly bergamot and rose scent. With the lavender notes as it cools. Then there are hints of rosemary. Got this because I thought the blend sounded interesting, but it’s very good too. (Had the first cuppa with cinnamon rolls.)
Flavors: Bergamot, Lavender, Rose
Ah, September, second best month of the year. Now begins the countdown to Autumn. The first scent I get is apples and ginger. With some nutty notes. There is a nice apple flavour, and some spice. Reminds me of apple pastry (not quite pie though).
Flavors: Apple, Ginger, Nutty, Pastries
Having a tea the same colours as the Irish flag sounded cool. So I got this tea. The scent is more on the strawberry side, with some coconut. There is a sweet, creamy berry flavour. Not sure what I was expecting, but the tea is more smooth in the second cup.
Goes well with lemon pastries.
Flavors: Coconut, Creamy, Strawberry
Tasting note number 550. I went to an art event this morning without having any tea. So I had this as my first cup. Which also happens to be the first note. There is a scent of honey and fruit. The fruity sweetness comes out in the flavour as well.
Flavors: Honey, Red Fruits
I’ve been hoarding this for a while, so it was time to have a cuppa. There is a somewhat pine scent, and a little bit malty. The flavour is mostly honey and baked bread. It has pine notes as well. Having another cup in my pinon pine forest.
Flavors: Bread, Honey, Malt, Pine
When life gives you lemons, make lemon bars. But make sure to use the right sized baking pan. Decided to have this tea with mine. It smells like caramel and baked bread. The flavour is a bit more chocolatey. The bread taste goes well with my dessert.
Flavors: Bread, Caramel, Chocolate
