892 Tasting Notes
I’ve had this one for so long and have been super afraid to try it. I thought tonight was a perfect time because I’m up cleaning the kitchen and wanted an herbal tea. But not the herbal teas with super flavors to them.
This one is actually reeeaaalllyyy good. It reminds me of a buttery vegetable green tea. It has a nice, full body and has no hint of bitterness. This one will surely be missed when it’s gone.
I only have a few more cups of this one to go. The flavor is ok. A nice green base with a herbal/tart aftertaste. I’m not a fan of hibiscus or rose hips so the tartness is a turn off. The orange zest comes through nicely. Overall I’m not a huge fan of this.
I found this tea on Amazon as a gift set and decided to give it a try. The tea leaves are thin and silvery gray. The aroma of the dry leaf is kind of like buttered salted greens.
I used my aroma cup set for this tea. the aroma is light on this one but it still kind of has that buttered salt aroma from the dry leaf. The flavor is nice and light. I can definitely catch the seaweed/kelpiness. It still has a nice light butter tone to it that just rounds the cup up in the aftertaste.
Overall I really enjoyed this tea. Good find!
Preparation
I was looking for something a it comforting and spicy. I mixed this with caramel truffle hoping to get a caramel apple thing going.
Not quite caramel apple but more of a…. chocolate… cinnamon..? There is a fruity taste but it resembles more of a…. cherry or plum. It’s not bad.. but it’s not the best one I could have picked. It has an aftertaste that’s similar to a hot drink loaded with sugar. Next time I’ll just go with the apple cider by itself.
I’ve had this one for a little bit. I’m usually pleasantly surprised by the Private Selection brand. It has some good products for being a store brand.
This is a nice, classic black tea. A nice aroma from the bergmont oil. It has a nice balance of the bergmont and black tea. The lavender is more in the after taste but it blends well and kind of wraps the cup up. Overall I enjoyed this cup and didn’t have any complaints.

For Christmas my family gave me some clear mugs and a set of blooming teas in all sorts of flavors. I decided to give the melon tea a try first. Oh. My. Gosh.
The tea opens up with green on bottom with a maroon flower(almost reminded me of a raspberry) in the middle and an arch of delicate white flowers above it. It was gorgeous. The ball stayed together and didn’t lose any petals or leaves.
The flavor of the tea was fantastic. With my experience, blooming teas always end up on the bitter side. There was no bitterness with this one. The melon flavor was very light and didn’t have any artificial taste to it at all. The green tea was very light in this but had soft notes of sugar snap peas and honey.
I got two good steeps out of this little ball. For the first steep I used water at 205 F and the second steep at 185 F. The second steep showed off the green tea a bit more.
Lovely! In my experience, blooming teas have never been a delightful drinking experience for flavour. Perhaps this company is the one to try. What a beautiful thoughtful gift!
Same! I’ve never really had a good experience with them but this brand was actually pretty good!
I haven’t had this one in a little bit and it seemed nice on a chilly night. It has a light dark chocolate with a touch of vanilla. It has a nice woodsy tone. Probably the rooibos in it. I enjoyed this cup but I’m craving some new tea.. I haven’t had a good purchase of tea in a while. But that’s what Christmas money is for, right?!
Welp.. I finally have enough time to get back into my favorite hobby. Life has been so busy the past few years but now that I have my own tea/reading room I can make more time :D
Anyways.. I’ve been craving an oolong lately and decided to jump back into it with this one. This is an excellent oolong. It’s buttery, smooth, has a slight buttered vegetable taste to it. It almost reminds me of a stronger green tea.
