drank Hatsune by Lupicia
1777 tasting notes

When I saw that 1/9/21 was going to be apricot tea day in the sipdown thread, I thought of Hatsune immediately. It may also be the only apricot tea I have, but I do love it and wish I had bought more when I had the change. If we ever do a France or Japan Lupicia group order, I’m in!
There were big chunks of cinnamon in my steeping basket today. Apricot has such a delicate flavor that it’s hard for me to pick out in this tea over the lovely hojicha base and cinnamon. I think I can pick it out in the finish, but it’s competing with the handful of arugula I shoved in my face hole ten minutes ago. I do love arugula.
This tea is so warm and comforting! I’m not close to a sipdown yet, but I do hope I can get my hands on more of this tea in the future.

Ya, I was pretty disappointed in how gutted the inventory is on Lupicia Hawaii (the CA website had far more tea options). Since France and Japan don’t ship overseas (and I loathe Japanese “in betweener” companies… if you get to paying that much in shipping charges, it seriously is not worth it), I’ve been biding my time for the Melbourne, Australia website to open up to international orders again… it looks to me like they used to have them available, but only stopped due to Covid. At the shipping prices already from Hawaii, I can’t imagine Australia being that much worse, and they have a much larger inventory than Hawaii.

haha I just shoved a handful of spinach in my face hole. I hate arugula. :D

I don’t think I’ve ever checked out their AU site. I wonder if they carry this blend!
Everyone else in my house hates arugula too, so it’s all me when I buy a bag. I’m determined to finish it before it spoils this time!

My name is Dustin and I like tea.

I’m an added flavor kind of tea fan, but have had a growing appreciation for plain. I want my tea to remind me of cookies and cakes with coconut and almond slices with a hint of chocolate drizzled on top. I want dancing ponies and flying monkeys shooting off fireworks! And no hibiscus. Hibiscus is the devil.
