1024 Tasting Notes
I picked up a large plastic teapot set on sale at T2 years ago. I wish I knew what I was getting, because if I’d realised at the time, I would have purchased a couple. Or a dozen.
I am obsessed with this teapot. It holds the perfect amount of liquid for me, 720ml, which makes three small cups of tea (to fit in my fika mug!). It retains heat so well. The only thing that could be improved is that the plastic filter lets some stuff through—I expect the stainless steel filter would be slightly more efficient but finding one is proving a little tricky.
Still, for the amount I’m obsessed with this teapot, it gets full marks.
I got this as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago from my brother and his girlfriend. I have the brown porcelain mug, which is like a mossy sort of brown. Not my favourite colour choice and I wasn’t sure if I’d even use it, though I was still impressed with the gift because it’s hard to lose if you get me a tea-something.
But here’s the thing: as much as I’m not crazy about the mug colour, this set is kinda perfect. I am crazy for tennis sets. The bamboo tray is stunning and a wonderful size—it fits a little teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl on it for a spectacular portable tea session for one. I would go so far as to say this is my favourite way to drink tea at home.
I am… still full. From last night. Or maybe from the fact that I continued with cereal for breakfast and a burger and fries for lunch. So for dinner it’s just a couple of mugs of this brilliant tea. And a bit of leftover Easter chocolate because it actually tastes wonderful with this tea ok
Green teas and I don’t really tango well. They’ve gotta blow me off my feet. Even green flavoureds. And this green tea just tasted like green tea. I wanted to taste the flavours, I did! I’ll give it another go, maybe in a mug rather than the timolino, and then maybe iced as well. That’ll get me through the rest of the sample, anyway…
And the medicinal tea serves its purpose well! Hence I’m bumping my rating. It makes me smile to see I’m not the only one who’s done this in the past. I love that I can have a hoard of “feel better” teas to complement my shelf of “this is delicious” teas. I don’t find it often that the two distinctions overlap but I do enjoy working out where a tea belongs. So does what ails me right now…
… and what ails me is Too Much Cheese. I had cheese for dinner and dessert. To be honest I don’t think it was the cheese though, I’m pretty sure it was the rice pudding I had for second dessert because I am a guts and a fool.
This tea is bringing my stomach a lot of comfort. Phew.
