280 Tasting Notes
Cozy is a great word for this tea. The cinnamon comes through in both the scent and taste, dominating the flavor, but the cardamom is also evident. I felt warm sipping it all evening. I love a strong cinnamon so this was a hit with me.

At this point it’s more surprising when I dislike a hibiscus fruit blend, and yet.
“Frozen raspberry” was begging to be made iced, but I’m sticking to hot right now, and I was glad I did. It’s a bold, tart blend that took well to my stronger steep. The sugar and yogurt pieces are getting close to overkill, though thankfully this particular cup was still primarily hibiscus and raspberry.
I can’t put a finger on what exactly makes this “frozen”, but the name fits.

After singing the praises of the dark chocolate orange, I was excited for more orange with my tea. This really wasn’t for me, unfortunately.
The first cup was such a strong orange peel flavor I kept thinking of cleaning solution. The second cup didn’t have that problem, which is always interesting; it makes me wonder if the particular spoonful I got was just a bad mix or if something was weird with my own tongue. But the second cup wasn’t really good either; I don’t know if I was put off by the mint/orange combo (which sounded awesome!) or the sweet factor.
I like that it was included, since it’s something fun and truly different from what I’ve had before, but I think that’s the end of the road for me and this tea.

A mild green tea with only a slight grassy flavor and none of the earthiness. It’s pleasant, but it doesn’t live up to the claims on the bag of a pale green color (definitely brown) or hints of fruit. I have been drinking all my advent teas hot, but I could see this as a pleasant iced tea.

Revisited this tea hot and bumped my score down a bit because I couldn’t tell you the difference between this one and white cranberry bark (other than just a touch less sweet). I don’t notice blueberry in particular, which is okay since it’s one of my least favorite fruits, but if my earlier tasting note is any indication this is better iced.
DAVIDsTEA advent, day 5
I just realized I don’t understand the concept of “least favorite fruits”. I love most of them. haha
Most fruits are amazing! I would rank blueberries and some varieties of apple as some of the only ones I would actively turn down.
This was… this was bad.
I can kind of see where they were going for frosted cereal, like maybe there are some lucky charms that once floated in this hot water? But it’s mostly just a cloying, artificial vanilla or caramel water. It doesn’t even manage to overwhelm the taste of water, and yet it’s too much. I tried to let it cool a little, but I was just as disgusted when it reached room temp. It just gives off a weird, almost butter/jellybean aftertaste.
My partner recoiled and has now declared he won’t taste my tea again because he doesn’t know when I might be trying to poison him.

I was excited to see this cold brew flavor I hadn’t tried in the advent!
This isn’t how I cold brew my tea usually, but these bags are a great way to toss something with a little flavor into my glass water bottle and have tea all day. You don’t even have to fish the bag back out, which makes these extra nice for being out and about.
This particular flavor was a generic tart berry flavor – I wonder if maybe I just don’t know what a black currant tastes like and that’s why I can’t pinpoint it? But it’s berry, and it’s a decent iced tea flavor, and I’m into the whole concept honestly.

I’m not great with simpler teas, because I don’t taste the nuances that others identify. This one does feel simple to me. It’s black tea with the barest hint of fruit at the end. I am certain it would make a delicious pitcher of iced tea that I could drink all day.
The whole leaves were fun to watch bloom as it steeped, and with a touch of honey, I even enjoyed it hot, even if I wasn’t immediately impressed.

On first sip, this was disappointing. It’s a mild flavor despite my tendency to use a little more tea than recommended. But as I continued drinking, I kept revising my rating upward. It is light but still tart, subtly sweet, and overall makes a nice tea that isn’t overwhelming and complements breakfast well.

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea! I find chocolate orange a bit hit-or-miss in general because it’s frequently so bitter, and chocolate tea has disappointed me before. I brewed this in the morning and kept it in my travel mug to enjoy all day, and I never tired of it.
I’m not a huge fan of sweeteners added to the tea for me; in this case it helped the bitterness of the chocolate and orange and felt balanced. I’m usually content to wait until the end of advent season to order something I liked – goodness knows I have enough – but I needed more of this.
