Received this tea from a friend who wasn’t interested in it. I wasn’t particularly either, so it sat in a bin for a while until I unearthed it the other day and made a pitcher of iced tea! With a touch of sweetener, it’s actually pretty nice – but nothing I’d purchase myself. Basically a standard sort of hibiscus-heavy fruit tea flavour, with a bit of an extra lemon kick.

Wow, this is the last tea in my cupboard I had yet to try! Won’t be trying anything new for the next several weeks: I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t buy any more teas until September and until my cupboard reaches less than 40 types of tea (when I made this promise a little over a week agoI had about 52 teas, now I have exactly 40. So I’m well on my way :)).

I cold brewed this tea overnight. It’s interesting that a lemon tea is red, but that is obviously due to hibiscus. When I tried it I got a mix of mildly tart and sour, which is the hibiscus-lemon combo. Pretty decent and standard flavour I’ve been having all summer in terms of iced tea. One of the better iced teas I got from Steeped tea, I think the lemon flavour is done well. I’ll have no problem using this one up, but like a broken record I have to say that for $4ish for a pitcher, I can probably make a similar tasting iced tea using Meyer Lemon and Strawberry Pomegranate tea bags from Stash for a quarter (or less!) of the price. I’m always mentioning the price, which I hope isn’t tacky, but budgeting is on my mind a lot and I think the taste/quality of a tea needs to merit the price

Thanks! Actually, last night I even managed to get my cupboard down to 37 :) 2 teas were used up in a pitcher of iced tea and the other tea (Cocomint cream- grabbed it from work a few days ago) was unfortunately rancid so had to be thrown out :(. To be honest though, I was more interested in the container than the tea because it has a screw on lid so it’s really secure for traveling. Either way though, it’s nice to see the numbers go down so fast! :)

I totally get you on the price thing! I love making iced teas as well, and a lot of the flavours from Davids work really good for it, but you’re right, per pitcher the cost is really pricey. I’ve also ranked teas lower on this for being pricy (even if it’s just a single hot cup), so no, it’s a legit thing to be concerned with. :)

Haha, other people have told me not to be worried either, it’s just I mention prices so often I feel guilty about it, lol.

I have also rated teas lower if the taste doesn’t merit the price. Also, I love a lot of DAVIDs fruit blends too but agreed that they can be pricey. Although, they are cheaper than Steeped tea. David’s herbal fruit blends are mostly around $7.50/50 grams, while Steeped tea’s are between $8-$10/50 grams (with more than half being $9+). Mind you, the price is a bit better if you buy 100grams, but still, that’s crazy.

Either way, I have made the decision to not buy any loose leaf fruit blends for the rest of the year (possibly til next summer), because I found some excellent bagged herbal fruit teas to make iced tea with. They are True Blueberry + Black Cherry Berry from Celestial Seasonings and Raspberry Hibiscus from Stash. They are wonderful cold brewed and taste just like the fruits they say they are. They are $1 or less per pitcher and are better than most loose leaf blends I have had. I’ll save my money for buying expensive loose leaf green tea, because then it makes a serious difference :).

Had this one this afternoon at work. I didn’t know what it was, but I knew what company it was from and at least some of the ingredients within it and this is the one that popped up.

It’s tart from the hibiscus and the lemon, but it’s not overpowering thankfully. Other than those, I didn’t really notice the other flavours really… Meh…

This one isn’t too bad, but not all that memorable to me.
