A blend of green teas, fruits, flowers, nuts and pomegranate, acai and yumberry flavors that brew to a light pink color with a delicate fruity tart taste.

Best brewed at 170º for 2 minutes and served hot, with additional sweeteners if desired.

Ingredients: Green teas, Almond slivers, hibiscus flowers, raspberry pieces, pomegranate flavoring, cornflower petals, acai flavoring, and yumberry flavoring.

I went over to the local hole in the wall coffee place. I love that place. I enjoy the smell of coffee but I have never enjoyed the taste. But this place has those large canvas sacks of coffee beans overflowing throughout the little shop. They sell local organic stuff like honey, jelly, chocolate, etc. They also have some teas in there from Simpson and Vail. Most of what they carry are flavored and unflavored black teas, they do have some herbals and a few greens. I was running low on peppermint and I always check to see what else they have. This was a new tea they had and it smells delightful, I also picked up a genmaicha while I was at it because I haven’t had any from the them nor have I had any in a while (at least over a year now).

Anyways, I don’t know what acai smells or tastes like, nor do I know what yumberry smells or tastes like…I don’t even know what a yumberry is…google…interesting. but I picked this up because it’s a green tea even if it is flavored and it smells divine! The tea is very pretty looking too, there’s all sorts of stuff floating in there from dried pomegranate seeds to what is probably yumberry pieces and acai pieces along with the green tea. It’s not tart like I thought it would be, it’s actually sweet and fruity but not overtly done like a lot of flavored teas that just kick you in the face. It would probably be nice iced too. a nice mellow flavored green.

Mastress Alita’s Sipdown Challenge (September) – “A tropical tea”

I think açaí is tropical…? At least, I would consider it to be. Not sure what a yumberry is though, ha ha.

This was fine, if a bit generic. There is a slight pomegranate note in the aftertaste, but otherwise it’s just red-fruity and slightly tart from the hibiscus. I haven’t had a lot of açaí things, but I think of it as being a darker berry flavor and I get a bit of that too, though it reminds me more of blackcurrant. I appreciate that the hibiscus is subtle and doesn’t take over the blend. The green tea is mellow and grassy.

There are sliced almonds in this one, which is odd to me. I don’t think I taste them? Anyway, a decent tea but not one I would repurchase.

Another great sample from Cameron, thank you!

The scent from the steeped tea almost makes me think of a sparkling wine sangria with tropical fruits. The taste is more subtle, with a mixture of cherry, raspberry, and hints of almond coming through. All against a smooth and unassuming green base. Overall a nice tea. I can imagine this might pop even more chilled/iced.

Getting over my cold since last weekend and my taste buds are back into action today. Per my usual 3pm green tea ritual I decided to taste something a little more tart. The wonderful fruity scent of this tea is what made me run to the cash register at the S&V tea shop last year. After steeping at the full 3 min, the color turned a pale pink and the scent still remained as my co-worker piped in how she loved the scent from across the room! The taste is quite tart due to the hibiscus, but not too much that is has turned me off as there are sweeter notes due to the honey and almond. After finishing the cup I am treated to a great light fruity aftertaste that still lingers on my tongue for a while. All I can say is yum!
