Wedding Tea

Yay, another sip down. I bought this over a year ago and I’d say it’s best fresh. The lemon and vanilla are creamier and, well, fresher. Not a fan of the base though, but then again, I’ve never been a huge fan of white tea. Maybe using a bai mu dan like the one that Stacy/Butiki uses would work with this.

Tea party began today with this tea. I had purchased it for my daughter who wanted to try some white teas and she really didn’t like it. My guest today, who usually strongly favors black tea, really liked it a great deal. Of the three teas we had today, none was a clear winner over the others. This is the first time we haven’t each expressed clear preferences, though our preferences are often different.

The vanilla flavor is strongest, though don’t take that to mean that it is strong. It is a delicately flavored tea but not one where you have to silence the radio, squint one eye, and concentrate to find the flavor. Behind the vanilla comes the light lemon note, very softly. This was really lovely today.

Oh, wow. This is fantastic! Lovely and light and, dare I say, perfect. Dry the rose scent comes through a lot stronger, but mellows nicely when steeped and the vanilla gently escorts your nose into the first sip. I get a titch of what seems like a hint of almond? But all the flavors are so even, dancing with each other politely. No sign of a drunken uncle at this wedding ;)

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary – we are drinking Harney & Sons Wedding Tea and reviewing it together.

We used one sachet per 8 oz cup (a little stronger than the suggested usage) in 180 degree water and steeped it for 3 minutes; the result was a deep yellow-orange liquor. The flavor was delicate but not weak.

We were both able to distinguish individual notes of vanilla and rose with a faint lemon background on a base of white tea, but when we sat back and experienced the ingredients in concert we discovered the taste and aroma of marshmallow candy.

We both enjoyed this tea; my husband rated it a 77, I gave it a 79.

Such a lovely, light cup of tea. I love the smell as I open the bag, and I love how the tea (in the tea bags) is actually pretty. I accidentally heated the water too hot, so after swirling the pot around a bit, I poured a cup into a cold mug (everything’s cold around here these days), then to the actual mug with the tea. Success! Great tea without the high temperature.

I checked here, and didn’t see too many reviews for the company it discusses (Dilmah), but still thought you might find it interesting!

I had this at the Roswell Tea House today, and from the description was pretty sure it was Harneys though it didn’t explicitly say. And I was right! It’s probably not good that I’m memorizing tea descriptions, is it?

I could take or leave the rose, but the idea of a lemon vanilla white was too good to pass up. Initially when I got the pot it seemed astringent, and I was worried it had been oversteeped, but I think that was just the tartness of the lemon. As it cooled the vanilla peeked out more and smoothed out the ends of the sip. The rose kind of wove in and out between the other flavors but it seemed more noticeable in the scent than anything else. And the white tea was the perfect backdrop – it was a light tea perfect for spring. This is one that I could definitely see as being good cold. Once I make a dent in the mountain of tea I currently possess I’ll probably buy some to give it a shot!

I totally cooked the leaves by not paying attention and using almost boiling water. Still, the flavours are awesome. Lemon cake. So good.

This one would be a worthy option to pick up in my next order!

this actually smelled like chocolate and rose, and tasted a bit that way too. I appreciate the complexity, but would only drink this once in a blue moon.

On my way to philosophy and all I have to do is show up to get double the attendance points since it’s presentations for the next three weeks or so.
Dude. My roommate started watching this show called Star Crossed and OH MY GOSH THIS SHOW. EVERYONE WATCH THIS SHOW IT’S SO GOOD OKAY WOW SOMETHING EPIC JUST HAPPENED AND WHAT.
AND APPARENTLY IT JUST STARTED TWO DAYS AGO AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT.

Mmmm… the dry bag smells like frosting! That’s a good sign. I was very disappointed to discover that all the teas I ordered from Harney & Sons were artificially flavored. I must have overlooked that on the website when I was ordering! I’m bummed. I’m trying them anyways, of course! Not worth pitching a fit over, but I wish I’d known before I ordered.

I decided to try another tea after my first one did not quite hit the spot. This was the only white tea in the bunch and I wanted to try to get a little less caffeine this afternoon.

I’m not going to lie, I totally bought this because of the ‘Tea for Marriage’ angle. Let’s hope it brings a little luck my way in that regard! I am looking expectantly at my ring finger as I type, hahaha. Oh well, a watched pot never boils! Unlike this tea water, which is more than ready to go.

Mmm… the warm tea smells less like frosting and more citrus-like. It tastes very much like lemon and vanilla, which are not flavors I usually like in my tea but I don’t mind them in this tea. I keep getting caught up on the artificial flavoring thing, though. This tagalong tea tin is beautiful and would be a good wedding favor. If you love vanilla frosting or lemon then this tea may be for you.
