Meh. Dark Chocolate Delight? More like light paper delight! You do get a nice dark chocolate flavour. It reminds me a lot of hot chocolate. But it taste like watered down, sugar free hot chocolate with weird dark chocolate syrup. I do like this tea, but it tastes very weak and papery. I’ll finish my 25g, but I don’t plan on restocking.

My review might be biased because I love chocolate teas. It was pretty celebratory when this tea came out as the Tea of the Month for May (aka birthday month)! Initially, I’ve tried this tea iced with a little bit of vanilla soy milk, sweetened with hazelnut agave, and it was absolutely amazing. Then I tried the Iced Chocolate Delight recipe from DAVIDsTEA blog, and I was absolutely amazed with how good it was. I’ll provide y’all with a link below for that recipe. I’m about to try this hot, and I doubt it will be anything other than amazing chocolate goodness. Chocolate is obviously the star of the show, it’s super rich and fragrant; accompanied with tiny notes of blueberry and hazelnut, which makes it absolutely perfect. This is such a great alternative to fruity iced teas which dominate the summer.

I love anything and everything chocolate so this blend was a must-try. It’s got a nice cocoa flavour but I didn’t identify the strange, slightly fruity flavour I was getting as blueberry until I actually read the packaging. There’s also an interesting malty note both in the scent and the flavour that brings chocolate-flavoured Ovaltine to mind (yes, I’m one of those weird people who actually really enjoys Ovaltine). It’s a good blend and I’ll probably restock when my current bag is done.

Smells like Brookside chocolates. Specifically the blueberry ones.

Sort of a thick dark chocolate texture, vaguely reminiscent of chocolate chili chai, although there’s a touch of tartness under it from the blueberries. Not as strong as CCC, but that’s because of the chilis I figure. I was hoping you’d get a bit of that brownie-like taste that I like so much about it, but it’s not quite there. Similar, and I am surprised, actually, that something of the fruit makes it through.

Dusty dark chocolate with an after-tang of blueberries. Ceylon tea base, I think.

I was really excited when heard that DAVIDsTea was coming out with a tea with dark chocolate, so I ordered a 50g bag online to try it out.

Truth be told, I don’t like it as much as my other favourite chocolate teas, Read My Lips, Chocolate Rocket and Chocolate Chili Chai. It’s not not horrible, it is just getting used to it.
I don’t think I will be ordering any more, but it is a different take on this kind of tea.

This tea was a lot more heavy on the blueberry than I would have imagined. More like eating dark chocolate covered blueberries than anything else. Fortunately, I like blueberries AND chocolate, so this gets points from me. There definitely is a certain similarity to hot chocolate as well. Not sure if I’ll pick some up, but enjoyable.

I suspect it was the batch, as I got a very heavy blueberry flavour from mine. Though my bf had a sip and got cherries instead, so it might be a bit ambiguous.

This time, I had the tea cold, and I added a squeeze of chocolate milk syrup and a dash of 35% cream. It’s good, but not extremely delicious. I’d recommend it in this format. I’d like to also try as a hot latte. It’s got a little fruity taste too, interesting.

I am very surprised by this tea! Most chocolate teas aren’t creamy enough or don’t taste chocolate-y enough for me. This one is excellent, I love blueberries but you don’t really taste them in this blend.

It’s excellent with milk. Excellent as an iced latte. When I want to skip the calories, I’ll definitely pick this one out in my cupboard. In my opinion, it’s the closest a tea has come to tasting like hot chocolate.

so this latte style + over leafed = hot chocolate haha. I for sure don’t need this in my cupboard but it was nice to try it. It really is like drinking hot chocolate…only i prefer hot chocolate. Also, i can’t imagine i’d enjoy the taste if it was brewed as a tea…something about it just screams “latte” to me
