Thanks so much for sending this one over in that glorious package, TreeGal! This one sounds intriguing. I thought this might be something I might like, though to be honest, I’m not picky and will enjoy almost every tea. :D The dry blend looks lovely with these amaranth flowers. Upon steeping, I’m tasting huge amounts of floral with hints of plum and pear. The base black tea has a larger leaf, completely black and twisty but the brew results fairly light. I thought it would taste more like plum as the cup cools, but it tasted fairly floral throughout. The second cup tastes almost exactly the same. This would be an even better blend if they toned down that floral a bit, since it’s called frosted floral/ sugar plum! So I think they are setting up everyone for disappointment when the name doesn’t match the tea. But I can enjoy this one if I’m not thinking of what it SHOULD be. Thanks again, TreeGal – probably a tea I’d never be able to try if you hadn’t sent it over.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug // 15 minutes after boiling // 2-3 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 4-5 minute steep
This one tasted like perfume to me… Blech! :P
I’m not QUITE getting perfume here, but I know you hate rose teas, so possibly this is too much floral for you. haha
Oh definitely, it’s a flower bomb!
