297 Tasting Notes
there’s this nasty stomach bug going around, it started in my house last Monday when my youngest got it, I ended up having it Thursday & felt like I was dying & managed to get it again on Saturday, but with cramps so bad I was in tears. woke up this morning & my youngest started puking & just as my oldest is ready to leave for school her cramps start & now she’s got it. to top it off my sitter had to fly home for a funeral, so I had to miss work again today.
so sip down day it is. Still yummy, even though it’s a lil older.
woah, the dry leaves smell AMAZING!
Smells like a mug full of tropical fruit while steeping.
this tastes very tropical, with a green taste. for some reason the first thing that came to mind with the green taste was aloe Vera, no idea why though.
once steeped, it’s fruity & floral smelling, kind of like perfume.
really like this, it would probably be amazing iced too.
Preparation
woooo hoooo finally got to try this one. I couldn’t resist buying it, it’s so different.
It’s a very light tea, in colour & taste. Very refreshing, slightly peachy & vegetal tasting. Really liking this one!
I didn’t get to sit & enjoy this, but this would be great with lunch!
Preparation
I tried this quite some time ago, when I made my mom detour 2 hours to get to a David’s. This was her to go cup.
I ended up buying a 50g bag later one because it was soo good.
Recently I have been drinking 2 cups of pu’erh in the mornings & I am now on my second 50g bag of it. Not only cause it’s pu’erh. But because it really does taste delicious.
Tart, citrus, earthy from the pu’erh. So good!
Preparation
I got this as a sample with my order. I’ve wanted to try this, but didn’t want to buy it because I cannot get behind mate.
This smells so delicious, fresh & juicy, both dry & as its steeping.
This is the best mate I’ve had. You get the fruity, juicy melon flavour at the front of the sip & a slight earthy, dryness from the mate.
Really good & I definitely want more.
Preparation
Ever have a tea that makes you gag? yea well I’ve found that tea.
this may be the worst tea I’ve ever had, EVER!!!
when I smelt the dry leaves I didn’t think I would like it, but that was the papaya smell. as it steeped it smelt much better. at the very beginning of the sip I get some creaminess from the chocolate, then I get the fruit, & that fishy earthy taste Pu’erh is known for. & then I gag, even before the mouth full is down my throat.
I’m going to attempt it with less leaves at another time, similarly I had to do that with the chocolate orange one, but that was more tolerable than this.
YUCK!!!
Preparation
received this along with 2 other pi’erhs from Davids.
the dry leaves are super strawberry-ie, there really isn’t much Pu’erh in the blend, which I should have noticed from the picture, so I don’t know how well it’ll work for my mission.
taste wise this is very berry, but generic berry, not strawberry like it smells.
it’s sweet & tart, very good.
overall as a berry tea it’s quite good, as a Pu’erh it doesn’t give me that strong puerh tastes that others do.
I really do like this.
ETA: I’m really started to kind of dislike this tea :/ rating lowered
Preparation
you know what.. i liked this a lot when it came out.. i drank it hot quite a bit, and cold steeped it.. i made a huge iced pitcher of it last week though and after one cup i couldn’t have anymore.. it made my stomach hurt so bad.. a lot of people say puh’erh’s will do that… i don’t recall ever having a problem with blood orange which is one of my favorites iced but this one and creme de menthe were painful, painful, teas for me! … i’m lowering my rating on it too actually, thanks for the reminder!
